Wonderful food - many great choices, and plentiful. A lovely restaurant and as its fairly small, we found it to be quiet and intimate. Friendly helpful staff. If you like good Thai food you will love Joy Thai.

Best Thai food in Townsville. Beautiful little family run business. Fresh seafood and super fast service. BYO with a low corkage fee. Very well priced.

Joy Thai is not far from my house so it is my go-to Thai restaurant. The food is good, reasonably priced, the portion sizes are good (usually lasts for dinner and then lunch the next day) and you get free prawn chips. The staff are not at all friendly which doesn't bother me as I usually get take away anyway... More

Food was ok. Considering it cost us over $70 I had high expectations it would be consistent & yummy. Pad Thai was bland, curry was average, fried rice was good, garlic & pepper was my favourite. Didn't seem overly busy with orders/restaurant but took over an hour from order to ready (fresh cooked I guess) as we didn't have a... More

Had a family get together and decided to get take away on a Sunday night. After reading the reviews decided to try it for ourselves. We ordered beef Massaman x 2, Pad Thai, Sweet and Sour Chicken, two steamed rice, vege samosa's and curry puffs. It was delicious, fresh veges, the meat was tender and the massaman was really good,... More

$60 worth of takeaway in the bin... Unfriendly, very small portion sizes, not fresh at all & no flavour. Who ever their chef is has no interests in cooking or preparing fresh Thai food. Forget going there, go the extra drive to Bountiful Thai or Aroy!

Came highly recommended and decided to order take away. When we got home and started eating we were very disappointed. Spring rolls were ok, red curry chicken very bland and creamy and the tamarind stir fry was tasteless. Free prawn crackers though.

Looking forward to thai on out road trip from Airlie Beach to Cairns. Went out of our way to look for the place at 3 pm and found it closed. Only open 5-9pm. Waste of time and hugely disappointing.

I gave this restaurant a poor review earlier and I feel, in all fairness, I must write another. This restaurant has recently re-opened under new management/owners and the food is delicious! Freshly prepared veggies and tasty curry. We had two mains, entree, two soups, and rice and all for about $50 for two people. The Tom Yum is amazing! we like... More
