After reading a number of positive reviews on this restaurant, we decided to order takeaway from this establishment. We paid almost $50 for 'The Lot' and 'Blue eyed mixed grill' and were blown away at how small the servings were. The meal was in a tiny box and included the tiniest portions of seafood I have ever seen and there... More

Great selection of Tassies freshest seafood. Friendly staff and a menu that makes it difficult choose. The night we ate there Taste of Tassie was on. We found it was far better value to eat here where we actually had great service and cutlery and crockery for around the same price as what was offered across the road.

Blue Eye at Salamanca in Hobart offers outdoor and indoor seating; harbour views and a substantial menu focussed on seafood while catering to meat eaters too. Seafood was superb and was complemented by the pairings with fine sauces and other flavours (e.g. miso glazed trevalla). Service was attentive, cheerful and helpful and pricing was surprisingly reasonable for such a great... More

Oh, hubby and I shared the seafood platter for two. It was sensational, the mussels were divine! The prawn dumplings were out of this world! All the food was spectacular, it was all fresh and unique. Not just deep fried. Each dish was a highlight to the star the seafood.

Set on the waterfront in Hobart this restaurant provided food of a very high standard. The service was also excellent and the wine selection was extensive. Very welcoming staff and knowledgable about their menu.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local so all I can deduce is that we chose the worst item on the menu i.e.: fish of the day (aka fish and chips with a sad salad). My point is if the owner/chef is going to charge a top restaurant price for FOD then deliver a meal that warrants this... More

We arrived without a reservation on wednesday at around 18.15 and were lucky to get a table for two. We had two fish dishes which were well printed and tasty. The raspberries and the stick date pudding both with vinilla pd iccream were excellent. the service was both carrying and attentive enough with our questions answered.

This restaurant should be one of the best in Hobart - it's has a great menu and wonderful seafood selection. However it is completely let down by service- no waiters checking your food/drinks or if you require anything. To be honest we didn't see a waiter again apart from taking our order and delivering the food. The classic is at... More
