After a pleasant coffee experience we decided to return for breakfast a couple of days later - and were not disappointed. It is very popular and the staff were running, but maintained their composure. The display of baked delights and bread is real drool material.

Stunning food and setting and a fantastic place for breakfast and/or brunch. Given the popularity and quality of food/coffee would have thought they'd have at least 2 baristas working - so coffee does take a bit to come out, but good coffee nonetheless Will be heading back for sure

Nice duck and pistachio sausage roll, great coffee, good service too. The pastries are all made with butter not marge, and they use heaps of local produce too. Top place.

This is a very busy bakery selling quality take away items but also light meals and coffee. The goods are more versatile and better quality than most bakeries. There are tables to sit at (inside and out) and its often necessary to wait for a vacancy.Breakfasts are especially great.

There is a varied menu here with something for all tastes whether it's breakfast, brunch or lunch. The service is a bit slow but the atmosphere is buzzy and the food tasty. They make great coffee and if you are a dog owner you can sit outside and enjoy the food just as much.

We walked past a handul of times over a few days and it was always buzzing. We finally relented and had breakfast one morning. There is a quick eats menu for those just seeking coffee/croissants etc, with a more expansive blackboard menu. Good all round - poached eggs were a touch under, and hollandaise lacked a bit of zing, but... More

I love J&M. The coffee is excellent, the service is friendly, and timely. There is so much to choose from, be it a small sweet treat, a dessert ( lemon curd tart is the BEST) or something of a more substantial nature. Well positioned, well priced for what you get. A good all rounder for all to enjoy.

The pies are to die for. The choices are varied but I don't know of a better place to get Hobarts best pie. And a seriously good coffee.

My husband had one of the slow cooked beef pies and it was excellent. Service was great and the pie delicious.
