The food was freshly prepared and beautifully spiced. I carelessly ordered something a bit too hot for me and asked for yoghurt and was given a whole bowl full. They let us take the leftovers home in a takeaway box. Wide range of options on the menu and food made fresh to order. Service was a bit slow but the... More

The lamb rogan josh was watery and had very little taste other than chilli. The rice was dry , no mineral water available so settled for tap water, the bottle was covered in dust. The door didn't close properly so the restaurant was freezing and the whole place didn't feel very clean. The onion bhaji was OK, but cold. Very... More

A cosy restaurant which was very welcoming given I had two young children with me. The service is very friendly, the menu has plenty of options to suit all tastes. The butter chicken and dhal saag were delicious and nice and hot on this cold evening. The naan bread was fresh and yummy. It was excellent value for money but... More

I ordered the Beef Curry, with Rice and Dahl, and pickle chutney. Absolutely delicious. I eat there at least once a week. Decor leaves a bit to be desired but the food is amazing. Can highly recommend. The staff are super friendly too.

Very delicious! Authentic Bangladeshi food! Generous serving at a very reasonable price, and very good service! I will definitely drop by this eatery when I'm in Melbourne!

Good range and exceptional value. Traditional Bengali/Bangla food and of course curry. Good biryani dish as well. Cosy to sit and conveniently located

Very small and run down looking restaurant which was a bit off putting at first. However excellent curries and portions were large.

My husband, daughter and I ate there for dinner. I was hesitant at first because there was noone else there. I like bustling restaurants as I always take this as meaning it's popular and good. The place could do with a good scrub and decor update and I think they could improve the vibe with some music as it was... More

Great service, friendly staff - smallest resturant ever, but fresh great food. Not much seating, we only had take away which was ready very quickly

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
