A good variety of very tasty pies is the main feature of Cafe Alcaston however they do offer a good selection of sandwiches as well! My daughter had a beef & wine pie & I had a chicken & leek pie - both enjoyed thoroughly!...More

Breakfast today is at Café Alcaston. Looks like I'm the first customer and I very promptly have my cappuccino, housemate muesli and toast with honey. The entrance is to be found just inside Collins Street, then it's the first on the right, once inside! I'm...More

First time in this wonderful little secret place. Home made delicious pies and a variety of salads and other choices. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I certainly will return frequently both socially and fir business lunch meetings.

This little place at the top end of Collins Street is not obvious if walking by, but that is half the attraction as it makes it less touristy. Most people around us seemed government types from the nearby parliament building, and the low visibility of...More

This review is necessary for the macaroni cheese. It was fab; fat penne as macaroni, gooey with a rich sauce, lightly crisped on top, and steaming hot- delivered in an iron pan straight out of the oven. It also came with a nice little side...More

Ordered the Sample (or Special) Pie which was half Chicken and half Beef. It came with a small salad, but the Pie was absolutely fabulous. Generously filled and very very tasty. Friendly staff and good value.

I met a couple of people here for a business breakfast. It was nice food and friendly service - I had an omelette with feta cheese and tomatoes that was excellent. Large serves, small place - so ideal for smaller groups. Very well priced.

even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
