Yep, the food is the most important thing when dining out but how it's served will make or break your night. The food at Sezar is fantastic. There's a reason it gets such a great rap on this site. But what makes dining at this restaurant such a fantastic experience is the wonderful staff. Bright. Happy. Smiling. Honest. Just brilliant... More

Can not fault this place. Venue is incredible, food combinations are amazing and the service is always very friendly and warm. Well decorated with a very intimate atmosphere. Have tried many items on the menu and am yet to taste something that is less than fantastic.

Location: Small lane in the CBD. Perfect to give it a nice Melbourne feel; Atmosphere: Nice, well decorated and though tables are in close proximity we felt there was enough privacy; Service: 5 out of 5. Friendly, polite, when our waitress could not advice on about wines she asked a colleague who was the right point of call and we... More

We sat upstairs in a very trendy busy dining area and ordered hummus with burnt butter, chicken wings, Crab dumplings, a barramundi dish and a dessert assortment to share. It was all really delicious - would highly recommend a visit !

Had a busy day so wanted to have an early meal. We walked in at 6 :00 pm and were lucky to get a table. Delicious food. Good quick service. Book if you don't want to miss out.

Dinner mid-week and we thought the restaurant might be a little quiet. Obviously a lot of people know how good the restaurant is even though its down a sleepy nondescript laneway. Tables are packed in so they can have as many people as possible taste their delicious Armenian food! We had the banquet with the tasting plate - $74 each... More

When I first heard about Sezar and looked at its popularity on TripAdvisor I did a bit more digging around and discovered the Wikipedia entry explaining what Armenian food is. Sounded yum. Howver there is nothing on Sezar's actual menu that you could really call "Armenian" according to Wikipedia. It was described to us on the night as "modern Armenian"... More

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. First time try for me and the girlfriend. The little laneway down to the Sezar sign gave us an intriguing feel, as we turned around the corner. As soon as we walked in the ambience was just awesome. Great lighting and the service was excellent. Waitress gave us sound advice on what was... More

A great restaurant tucked away in one of Melbourne's many renowned lane ways. I went early with a friend (with a third friend to meet us). We did not make a reservation as I thought we would be safe going 15 minutes after opening for dinner (which is 5:30pm). We were lucky to get a table as this place was... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
