The decor and desserts showcase prompted us to pop in and have a look after dinner. May us go back a second time around to have dinner, get a cake for a birthday and have coffee. Nevertheless, satisfied on almost all fronts. Pasta was nice but a little al dente for the kids. Pizza was very good as well, reminded... More

Good coffee, excellent cakes and quick service - hate waiting around to pick up drinks - table service would be good for the real experience.

So glad we called in here for coffee and were tempted by the fabulous display of cakes. I have never seen anything so impressive outside of Italy. Pity we had to chose just one cake from the incredible choice. Coffee was excellent and the chocolate cake to die for. Such perfection and quality.

Friends took us to Brunetti while we were visiting them in Melbourne and oh boy what an amzing place. I had no idea what to order as EVERYTHING looked delicious. We sipped on coffee and had an assortment of Italian treats, my tastebuds were in heaven. I highly recommend a visit, you wont be disappointed

It is like a cake paradise when we walked in, I just love it- not much I could eat but I had packed few back home with us. Good atmosphere and the displace of cakes make you want to have them all.

This place blows your mind and taste buds. Probably the best gelato I've ever had! There's an amazing range of food there!

The amount of desserts is unbelievable. Smaller sizes are available at $2.50 each so you can try different types without have to buy the bigger pieces (the Myer has less choices and not available in small size).

I was visiting Melbourne and went to Brunetti at Lygon Street for breakfast. My son had given this place a very high rating and I went there on his strong recommendation. I wasn't disappointed - the food was excellent, as was the coffee. The set-out of the cafe is very European, it reminded me a little of the beautiful delicatessens... More

Been here many years ago and always wanted to return. Back here with my kids and they loved the desserts! Still amazing variety of pastries, cakes and gelato! Busy as always but we managed to get a table quite quickly.

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
