The best Indian restaurant i have visited in Lygon street, Melbourne. Had a great time in this restaurant, all the dishes were so delicious, gluten free and quick serving. This restaurant made my day :)

With a relaxed vibe and friendly staff I felt very comfortable at this restaurant! I came on a whim as I was wandering through Lygon Street and I'm glad I did! The food was delicious and I will definitely be returning!

We went to this restaurant based on the most recent review from a few weeks ago that said it was great. I'm not sure what they are comparing it to but this is hands down the worst restaurant I've been to for a long time. The service was so slow despite there being only one other table occupied. The waitress... More

This place really is a hidden gem. We had the best Indian food since our visit to India this year and the staff are fantastic. I couldn't believe the reviews about this place... Until I noticed when they were written. Under new management, this place is great. It's a shame that the restaurant didn't have a busy atmosphere but it... More

This would have to be the worse restaurant I have ever eaten at. The service can not be called service as they didn't service us. I had to ask to order to begin with. (Should have left then) The food was that bad we couldn't eat it. The chicken smelt funny and was extremely dry. Physically not possible to eat!... More

We ordered Tandoori Mix Platter, Chicken Tikka Masala, Dal, Nan and Rice. The food was adequetly spiced up and tasted yum. The rice quality can be improved. Good part was garam masala was not added too much. Ambience was okayish.

We were in early and we were very quickly served but as the place filled up the service was noticeably slower. We ordered one of the banquets which was very good food and very well priced. The food was spiced according to our taste and there was a really good selection. The only disappointment was that they had run out... More

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
