Food and service here a top class. The food is so flavoursome and rich. Go hungry as the portions are huge. The anti- pasta was an array of small delicious mouthfuls. I have the special gnocchi with John Dory and soft shel crap and my partner had the steak! Can't forget the amazing spiced cauliflower with pomegranate and nuts -... More

We have been to Cicc a number of times over the last decade and this place never gets tired . New specials on every occasion . You are provided with a crunchy bread to start and it is so moorish .I ordered the Papperdelle gal and mushroom ragu and it was exquisite with such complex flavours .My wife had the... More

There is something quirky about a restaurant that doesn't take bookings; you enter at the back ; leave at the front. Tables are crammed together , so you can certainly see what the other diners are eating, discuss their order and join in the odd Birthday celebration. Without this, Cicciolina would be fairly ordinary. Service was a dichotomy. The Barman... More

I was in Melbourne for a couple of days and a work colleague suggested I try Cicciolina as I was staying in St Kilda. It was very busy for a Monday night approx 8pm. I had the wagyu beef carpaccio as an entree and the special Pacherri Pasta with duck and pumpkin ragu.. both were well presented and tasty. Serving... More

For me, Cicciolina wasn't as good as I had expected and hoped for. When you are paying in the $40 range for a main meal I expect excellent food however I found the pork belly that I had ordered almost impossible to cut through and overcooked. My parter who loves a steak found the scotch fillet lacking which was a... More

I last ate here about 10 years ago, back then it was busy and the food was memorable - nothing has changed - the place is still busy and the food is still wonderful. We enjoyed dinner there last night, I had the Pork belly and husband the lasagne - we enjoyed every mouthful, the suggested Rose wine for the... More

The true heart of Acland street beats at Cicciolinas..from the service, ambience to the quality of the fare it is a dining experience that conjures the true bohemian style of Acland Street despite its glitzy and showy refurbishment. Yes the seating is a little cosy but the staff are attentive and the cuisine is pure quality across the range of... More

Deservedly well known with a big reputation. Unfortunately they don't take bookings. There is a great bar at the back, known as The Back Bar where you can wait for a table or order bar food. The restaurant is extremely cosy & rather small. Since the Acland St improvements they've put a few tables outside & opened the front door.... More

Staying in St. Kilda

Neighbourhood Profile
St. Kilda
St. Kilda is an iconic beachside suburb and one of the most culturally and economically diverse of Melbourne’s neighbourhoods. It is a traditional haven for musicians, artists and writers, drawn to the European ambience and fresh ocean breezes. At night, it can have an edgier side, but by day, it features a relaxed vibe – the market stalls, boutiques and outdoor bars display St. Kilda’s easygoing attitude. Ocean winds blow from Port Phillip Bay and waves lap onto its long and mostly deserted beaches. Rides whir at the world’s oldest operational Luna Park. On a lazy weekend morning, bikers cruise along Acland Street, showing off their motorcycles. But the late morning crowds are too busy at brunch to notice. St. Kilda is a perfect place to relax after a night out with friends.
