My friend and I dined at the Cellar Bar last night before a show. I have dined here often and assured my friend that this was a fabulous place to enjoy good pasta. I was so disappointed. Firstly the service was appalling. We were asked by three different members of the wait staff if we wanted to order drinks, after... More

Superb place for a special occasion dinner. Delightful ambience. Food exquisite. I didn't think the servings were particularly small ( and have been to similar fine dining where they have been ) however we had the degustation so difficult to judge. The thing that made the night for us though was the service. Quite simply it was the best service... More

While on holiday, on a cold winter's night, we had dinner here. It was cold outside, but hot, hot, hot inside, we had to take off layers. Too hot. The service was good. The food was nice, but pretty fancy, and small servings. When I booked I was told there were 3 levels, maybe we should have gone to the... More

We had a long lunch here to celebrate our friends 50th birthday. Our waiter suggested a superb number of wines for us to enjoy, listening to our likes and dislikes and food matching. The meal was special, with the oysters being particularly outstanding, quite possibly the freshest we have ever tasted (there is definately a difference). The menu had only... More

Service, food, setting, all spectacular. The team looked after us from beginning to the very (late) end, always smiling and always on hand to answer questions. They even prepared off the menu when one of the guests was struggling to select.

Went there over Christmas and I must say what food there was good but not enough food. Left hungry!! Not good for such an expensive restaraunt! Get it right Florentino"s. Overall good service and in a good spot.

By sharing your eSuperb service. the menu was moreish - we had a hard time choosing. Our entrees were great. Being Grossi I couldn't go past the wild boar pasta which was amazing. My friend had a steak and couldn't stop eating it.xperiences, you're helping travellers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you!

Nice athmosphere and friendly staff, good presentation of the various courses but the warm dishes were not warm and you can not serve a glass of Fleurie in the Wine pairing (although it's cost only $ 90.--). For the same price you will get in Italy much more exclusivity

The decor has been "updated" to boring brown and industrial lighting. Those pretty images of euro dining with white tablecloths? Gone. The food was great but very $$$ ( over $500 for lunch for 4) and simply doesn't gel with the everyday cafe vibe they've gone for.. how disappointing! Has been in my top 3 for years but no more.... Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
