Just found my new favourite restaurant in Melbourne. Fantastic 3 courses (not my usual lunch!), with a lovely smart/casual vibe in a great area of Melbourne. I'll be back Sarti! Thanks for a yummy lunch.

Another work trip to Melbourne saw me revisit an old haunt I had not been to for maybe 3 years or so. And I did not regret it for a lazy lunch before a flight home. The squid ink pasta with crab, roe and chilli was divine The Italian white, a refreshing number from Abruzzo was delightful The tiramisu was... More

Out all day and tired we wanted an easy place to eat close to the Victoria Hotel where we were staying. Staff recommended Sarti's just a few steps away. 'Italian." they said, but not Italian as we generally know it in NZ. This was a great contemporary venue with really interesting and different menu choice. I loved it that Sarti's... More

Love this place. I regularly catch up with friends in the CBD & have tried a great many of the 'Express Lunch' options on offer. Generally, I like to try somewhere new or mix it up a bit, but I've come back to Sarti at least four times now because the food & service are just so good - and... More

Love this place! Having just relocated to Melbourne I was recommended to eat at Sarti with my family by some of my colleagues who regularly have lunch meetings there. Anticipating that the Melbourne food scene is one of the best in the world Sarti certainly lives up to the standard I expected. The wait staff were helpful in suggesting a... More

One of the worst dining experiences...completely disappointing. My family and I just dined at Sarti tonight. The service was arrogant, with no attention to detail or charm. The food was below average, and actually the risotto was terrible, and for what it was: overpriced. It was incredibly expensive. I last ate at Sarti many years ago, and so suggested the... More

Service was very poor and slow, had previously dined here some years ago and had a wonderful evening. Was very disappointed with the whole evening, Staff had an arrogance and no polish or sense of service. Appeared more interested in talking to their mates. It was not what you expect in this price range. Customers seemed to be a hindrance... More

We finally returned to Sarti after enjoying their hospitality during the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival a few years ago. We were welcomed to a small table near the bar, and subsequently had a number of noisy and foul mouthed bar patrons standing with their backs to our table, actually impinging on our table space. We noticed this happening to... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
