5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW

I have written several reviews of Coda and that's because each time I experience something new, I want to share it! Coda has always been a favourite spot whether for lunch or dinner - sometimes I book and sometimes I can't get a booking. It doesn't stop us popping in to see if we can squeeze in somewhere and last... More

Coda had Fabulous food. My only regret was not being able to try more. It was a little expensive but it was definitely worth it. I enjoyed every dish but one, the cucumber panacotta. This dessert was extremely gelatinous and one dimensional. I would not recommend to order this dessert. We also ordered the ice cream sandwich for dessert and... More

This was not our first choice on our night out but we are so lucky we found it off the side of Flinders Lane! We arrived really late but were still seated at the bar. The staff at the bar was really knowledgable about the food and wine and made great recommendations. We LOVED the food and this will be... More

Sensational atmosphere, if a little noisy Caution not to over order, it's very easy to do with all the superb options. Between of us we had 2 starters, a main, a salad and 2 dessert (plus several cocktails!) and it was the perfect amount. The wait staff know their wares, happily assisting us and directing re: food/wine matching and portion... More

Food is absolutely brilliant, the staff were friendly, well informed, professional and had fantastic personality. We didn't have a reservation and sat at the bar which was cleverly thought out and left plenty of space for all our share dishes and drinks. The pork belly is a must!

Description
Upon opening our doors in 2009, we were thrilled to receive the The Age Good Food Guide's 'HatAward' and have maintained it ever since. Complementing these achievements, we are very proud of Head Sommelier, Travis Howe, who not only won Sommelier of the Year but also picked up the 2013 Wine List of the Year. Nestled in one of Melbourne's iconic laneways (basement Oliver Lane, and Flinders Lane), Coda is located in the busiest and most dynamic culinary precinct the city has to offer. A stone's throw away from the Yarra River, Flinders Street station and Federation Square, the restaurant enjoys hosting a diverse group of diners from frequenting locals who live and work on its doorstep to diners from all over the globe. Upon entering the restaurant you will be greeted by a member of our friendly team headed by Mykal and Kate Bartholomew and Executive Chef Adam D'Sylva. The trio has assembled a dedicated team with highly sought-after experience from many international and Melbourne-based restaurants. Coda's relaxed environment provides a versatile setting for a range of engagements. Whatever your occasion - from a quick pre-football meal, to a long Sunday lunch, business dining or a cosy seat for an anniversary - we look forward to your visit. While bookings are highly recommended, patrons without a reservation can enjoy the full menu at the bar.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
