Yes, it is a complete and maybe unjustified indulgence but it is amazing. If you want to celebrate something really special for the two of you then you will not do better. Unfortunately the building is GUR so the gloss is off at the start but once you wind your way through the construction site to the guided lift your... More

I have high expectations because I made a booking nearly 2 months ahead of time. One of my friends highly recommended it and said it is a must go in Melbourne. It was a very interesting experience. Staffs were very friendly, pleasant conversations; especially Alexandre (I think that's how it's spelled). I decided to do the 7-courses as I have... More

I've never been to a fine dining restaurant that I've loved....until now. Everything was superb and every course had a special wow factor. Perfect for that special occasion.

This was our 2nd time here. Loved our first visit in Feb 2015 - the food was adventurous and the overall experience was fantastic -our Portuguese sommelier was particularly good and really made the evening for us! This time round we had the 10 course taster with prestige wine pairing. The food was good (though lacking some creativity vs our... More

The food at Vue de mondo use to be really good, French and worth the $250 per head. Now it tastes like your out on camp in a bush outback. It was not French whatsoever this time round and the venue is very smoky from the open kitchen you see when you walk in. They need to change their ventilation... More

We recently celebrated our daughter's graduation with dinner at Vue de Monde. We had high expectations from reading previous trip advisor reviews and I am very pleased to say that we were certainly not disappointed. It was a delightful Melbourne summer evening with fantastic visibility, affording spectatular views. The venue itself is most pleasant. The staff were all very welcoming,... More

We went to this fabulous restaurant for lunch and we weren't disappointed! We had the ten course degustation menu and we enjoyed every course. Yes, it's expensive but it's not just about the food, it's the entire experience. The staff were lovely, the atmosphere was great and the view was fantastic!

Unmistakable in it's own signature style, this is fine dining at it's best. I have an annual dinner date here and I am never left wanting. One of the best possible dining experiences in Melbourne, and that is saying something!

Vue de Monde was everything I thought it would be, and more. The food was exceptional, and the view was spectacular. The service was beyond compare. We were visiting Melbourne and had dinner with a friend we had not seen since 2014. We stayed much longer than we planned, and were the last to leave the restaurant. The staff could... More

A heads up - a visit to Vue de Monde is not cheap but it is fantastic! The service, decor, food and wine are all what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. From the moment you speak to the staff on the ground floor of the Rialto building until the gift as you leave at the end of... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
