Treat yourself to that "something special feeling" the hot chocolate is to die for. The biggest question is which variety to choose

Hubby and kids had chocolates here, had to wait a bit as they were busy, but that is to be expected this time of year. Staff were friendly and worked quickly while still providing excellent service. Kids and hubby enjoyed every mouthful. Would certainly visit again.

This place serves the best chilli hot chocolate I have ever had. It is very smooth, rich and spicy. I think the secret is that they use quite a bit of cream and a high proportion of chocolate so don't overindulge! The Collins Street café I visited had a very pleasant ambience. It was quiet and spacious and the staff... More

Its the famous Lygon Street in Melbourne and a street full of eateries but more famous (I was told) for the coffee and the chocolate cafes. Koko was a walk in for me without an introduction from anyone. Came for a choc dessert and ordered the A$17 Belgian Roll which is more a roll call of chocolate varieties than a... More

If you are walking around the city, do not miss a cup of this hot chocolate. It is simply delicious! You can either have it in the place or have a take-away one.

I had the soy hoy chocolate served in a fine china cup and saucer and it was just lovely. The setting is charming and the staff are friendly and attentive. Not cheap but nice for a treat :)

One in Queens Arcade didn't have their standard truffles (due in later), luckily Collins was fully stocked. Great tasty truffles, great packaging - well worth the $$. And with great service. Didn't have any thing as dine in this time.

My husband and i have been coming to koko black for years (when ever we are in Melbourne) as always the service was great and we had fun. Got some chocolate for friends at home and some for us to enjoy. Will defiantly be back.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
