Went here for lunch on Sunday with my wife and was very pleasantly surprised. A really nice space, super friendly, helpful and competent staff and the food was decent too (BBQ pulled pork roll for me and the prawn and calamari salad for my wife, who said the seafood was cooked to perfection). Definitely recommended.

Nice building and decor, with an interesting menu. Service is not good, but at least friendly. Food had generous portions, but took over an hour for out table of nine people, some of which was overcooked and cold.

Unable to eat here (I wasn't intending on consuming alcohol) as I didn't have my passport (I am British, not a local). This seemed unbelievable to me. What a shame.

We visited at lunchtime, with family and were given a cheery greeting, which is always nice. There is a good choice of beers and wines and a sensible menu. Not too many choices. The food was great. Hearty portions of well presented, tasty fare. We loved it and will be back for more.

We ate here with some friends, all as tourists to the area. It was busy but the waitress found us a table quickly enough and explained about ordering from the bar. Service at the bar for food and drinks was prompt despite being busy. Food was delicious and came in big portions. Not a big choice if you are vegetarian.... More

Went here for a lunch time snack. We all chose the sea food chowder. The best chowder we've tasted and we all agreed! Good choice and reasonable prices.

I have been with my girlfriend last Sunday. We have been waiting an exaggerated amount of time just to order and to get the food. Food was average, portions big, but taste pretty average. We came back after 3 days, they did not accept us saying that if we do not have a NZ passport we cannot dine. During my... More

My partner and I had a great meal at the Pig and Whistle Historic Pub. The place has a great atmosphere and is always busy and pumping. The food is great - and well priced!
