Decided to try the Pig and Whistle during our stay in Rotorua and heard it was kid friendly. While there we did see people come in with kids and leave. We entered.. you should know to pick your own table. The ones in the back feel like you are in a food court not a good pub. Opted to sit... More

This is an authentic pub with great atmosphere and service. The history of the building is interesting, and the information provided is informative but discreet. The name seems ironic, given the original use as a police station. The food is really excellent and the portions generous to say the last. The lamb salad was great. Good cider too.

Awesome food and great atmosphere :-) We debated long and hard about which of the fabulous array of restaurants in Rotorua and we are so glad we came to the Pig & Whistle! We will definitely be back.

Cheerful friendly pub. Good beverage choices. Curly fries are fantastic. Regular place to catch up with friends after work and close to the Thursday Night Market in town.

This place was suggested by one of my mates. He said I'd love it and he was right. Lovely ambience, staff were friendly & efficient. Meals were reasonably priced & bigger than I thought they'd be. Live entertainment, chatty banter from other tables. Bonus: NFL was on the big screen.

Arrived in Rotorua late and went out looking for somewhere to have dinner. At first my husband and I walked past the Pig and Whistle but return after exploring the other dinner options. It was about 8.30pm and a lot of people were still inside ordering and eating. The atmosphere inside was relaxing and warm. I order the soup of... More

My husband and I stopped by for dinner. The food was great and the price very reasonable. Staff were friendly with a high turnover of customers.

Enjoyed the atmosphere. Offers delicious local beer on tap. We recommend the chowder and the chicken sandwich, both delicious. And this bar scored MAJOR points with us since it offered American football on TV. My husband was able to watch the Dallas Cowboys game.
