.... and was surprised to see so few people there when the other indoor galleries, cafes & touristy places that we had visited that morning were so busy. Our experience was a good one - nice cafe food, friendly staff, quick service & pleasant surroundings. It was easy to see that it would be an even better experience on a... More

This is getting one star as opposed to no stars simply because of the cute art on sale. Overpriced and underwhelmed would be how I'd describe this place. Like many places that pretend to be upscale the prices are but the food isn't. A child's meal consisted of a drink half a black banana and a packet of dodgy looking... More

We went for brunch and opted for a pulled pork bun, which was tasty and a cheese melt. The coffee was good and food okay. The most enjoyable part was wandering up to the gift store and browsing at the kiwi themed gifts and art work on sale. A pleasant place to visit.

The amazing artworks at their shop are some of the best in the country. Along with the setting it will be a "must go" every time we pass through Taupo in the future. We had lunch one day & returned for coffee the next. Dietary requirements were no problem & day one a gluten & dairy free steak sandwich, as... More

Had talked the place up to my overseas partner, arrived on a pleasant Saturday morning to enjoy a coffee before town. Ordered two coffees and two cakes. We got the cake quick smart which was nice. The coffees never came... there was no staff out the front or anyone within 10ft of the coffee machine, we waited for about 20mins... More

We arrived for a late lunch and the staff was cleaning up so it was kind of awkward. Food was very average. Not a fan of ceramic tile art.

Booked L'arte on a Saturday night for a family celebration. Jo made everything so easy! found a solution for every little 'special thing' we wanted included into our 'surprise' party - nothing was a problem. The setting is really spectacular and lends itself to any family celebration, it was like having it at home. Jo is an amazing host! The... More

Coffee was fantastic. Did I say coffee was fantastic! Visually pleasing to approach the cafe. A bit of a discovery but worth the effort. Food was so pleasing to view, homemade but very professional and dessirable to eat. Wish I could have fit more food in. Such a relaxing feeling to the place with a natural based outdoor feel and... Voted Lonely Planet's No 1 cafe pick for the Central North Island and one of the top 10 places to visit in New Zealand. L'Arte Cafe and Gallery is not to be missed when visiting Taupo. Allow yourself time to experience something very unique and special! A trip to L'Arte is a visual and edible feast and unlike anything you have experienced before. The cafe and gallery are both set in a magical garden, complete with an outside mosaic living room. The food and art at L'Arte's unique destination are both exquisite. Resident ceramic artist Judi Brennan's work is evident everywhere and is sold exclusively from the gallery at L'Arte. L'Arte Cafe serves Allpress coffee, has a wonderful selection of New Zealand wines and beers and the excellent service exceeds all expectations. With New Zealand's finest produce, L'Arte's kitchen team produce everything fresh on-site, from homemade bread to homemade pesto and onion jam. We have also created a small deli so you can take some of L'Arte home with you. L'Arte Cafe, Gallery and Garden is a special holiday experience that will stay with you .........
