Very relaxing summer afternoon with yummy food, serene views and refreshing wines. Try the wine paddle. 4 tastings of either whites, reds or a mix for $16. The pulled pork balls were yummy. The crab and corn risotto was delicious. Bonofee pie is worth sharing to finish the meal. Service was friendly and gave good wine choice advice. Definitely recommend.

Warm summers day, sampled the Mills Reef wines before lunch. Sat at a sheltered outdoor table, interesting menu and generous servings. Friendly and attentive wait staff managed a full lunch restaurant well. Can certainly recommend the pork balls, chicken curry, market fish on quinoa salad and great chips with mirin aioli. Couldn't fit in dessert.

I had been to Mills Reef on my first visit to New Zealand 11 years ago. We had a very grown up dinner which was superb with delicious food and wine for four. Due to the exchange rate back then it was astonishing value for money. I've since been back for a wine tasting which was excellent but never got... More

After carefully planning my girlfriends 30th birthday, we booked for a tasting here as we knew that it was a busy time of year. Upon arrival we were told that the booking wasn't needed although they had phoned and emailed us twice to confirm the reservation 👌🏽 When we arrived we order some food as we were quite hungry, the... What a great place. A group of us went there for a xmas get together for lunch and boy I was really ed. Lovely setting, great staff and service and the food was divine. I had the ginger meat balls for entrée and the lamb for the main and they were just beautiful. We spoilt ourselves and had a desert... More

Unfortunately Mills Reef will be relocating - maybe not for another 3-4 years or so, but visit whilst you can because it is a beautiful place and lovely setting. We went for wine tasting and then decided to stay for lunch. It was quite busy and we had not booked but a table was no problem. There is a lot... More

Stopped in with Family for lunch. Staff welcoming and food arrived in good time. No issues at all. Everything clean and tidy.

Great setting for a casual lunch on a sunny day with open views to the large grounds if you chose to sit on the terrace. Good choice of food and reasonably priced as well as an interesting wine selection from this well known winery. Sadly plans are to close down within a couple of years for re-development of the site...... More

Visited for a lunch stop on the way to Rotorua. Definitely no regrets stopping over! Awesome wines. Awesome food. Great service. During wine tasting, the server let us try that was not on the list but it was part of their "reserve" selection. Photo was our dessert, a coconut rice pudding.. it was one of the best meals we have... More
