An old house in the midst of glass and steel high rises delivers up a nice meal in a good setting. We shared a steak, salad, beans in basil butter. Attentive and professional service. Food was cooked perfectly, french fries were HOT. Nice wine list and a full bar. Delicious. Gluten and dairy free options.

Went there as a couple last night. From beginning to end the service was terrific.. starting with the greeting by a very personable host who explained that there would be a wait of almost an hour for a table. No problem. Sammie the bartender, although quite busy was pleasant and prompt with our drinks. As promised, a table came open and... More

We shared a delayed Valentines night out with good friends of ours at the Boulcott Bistro. We had an excellent time, the food was lovely. Good and honest. I loved the cuteness, and quietly confident decor. Very comfortable for a good night out with friends or as a couple. All our meals were thoroughly enjoyed especially the beef cheeks

A very old, quirky, building surrounded by highrise apartments and commercial buildings. Restaurant only accepts bookings for certain times of the day and you otherwise take your chance. Excellent food well presented and served. Well worth a visit.

Phoned the bistro to make a reservation but was told 'it's just casual dining after 6pm'. We arrived around 7:30. The waiter informed us on arrival that there weren't any tables available but a lady who was dining on her own was just finishing her dessert so a table would be ready in about 10 minutes. Lie number 1. We... More

Though we have been to BSB many times, on this occasion, we were hosting some family from out of town. We knew of the no booking policy and despite being a busy Saturday, we managed to snag a table for six without having to wait. Lucky too,as soon after the restaurant was completely packed. The waitstaff were attentive with drinks... More

Housed in a cute little old cottage, Boulcott St Bistro is a classic. The service is excellent and the food is amazing. I almost always order the steak and chips, and they are consistently excellent. The French Onion soup is amazing and the one time I tried something different (the fish and scallops) I was not disappointed. Such a great... More

Consistently great cuisine. The dinner menu is relatively simple but each option is tried and true. There is a reasonable New Zealand theme to the menu with local produce to the fore, though it would be nice to see a game food option. Good service, knowledgeable and accommodating staff. On certain nights, it can get a little noisy but if... More

The restaurant is gingerbread and beams, just cute as can be. The service is exemplary, the wine list interesting enough, but the food is simply bland. A tuna sashimi appetizer was as interesting as cardboard, though the mushroom pasta was quite good. The fish of the day featured sweet scallops with coral still attached over a flavorless fillet of something?... More

We came here to celebrate my partner's birthday on Saturday night. The place was packed and on arrival we were greeted by a very friendly FOH manager who informed us it would be a 45 minute wait for a table, and invited us to have a drink at the bar while we waited. We decided to stay and were glad we did.In the...
