Friendly staff and great food always makes this a great place to eat out. You can reserve a table only if you eat before 6pm which is worth barring in mind as it's popular so get busy most nights. Food is very good to excellent. Can recommend everything but the broccoli & blue cheese which on this occasion fell short... More

I read many reviews for this restaurant and expected more. The food was fine but not anything special. The staff was not very attentive for a solo traveler. I went to other restaurants I think were better.

We ducked in here one night when the traffic was really heavy and there was no point joining the queues, and stayed for dinner. I've dined here numerous times over the years, and the quality of the service and the food has never dropped. The beef fillet is their signature dish and it never fails to impress, and they have... We walked up seemingly a thousand stairs on the streets from our hotel to this restaurant. We treated our Wellington friend to this place that he is fond of. It is in a historic building with a nice atmosphere. We were seated near the kitchen but there was not a lot of the usual clattering so I didn't mind. The... More

We had this night booked by our daughters and paid for as a treat. It certainly was. Having not been here for some 20 years it was nice to see it humming and busy. The service attentive, and there was a nice mixture of families and couples. We started with calamari and the house made ravioli both delicious. The snapper... More

As they don't take dinner bookings, we arrived early and it was soon full. The staff were all friendly and efficient. We ordered the aged beef fillet steaks, they were cooked to perfection and delicious! Although it came with excellent fries, you might expect a vegetable to be included for the price. Extensive quality wine list on par with top... More

Brought the whole family here after wanting to go for years, and after a quick drink at the bar our lovely waitress showed us our table. We all wanted a delicious piece of tender lamb, and it was tender, but that's all it was. The flavours of the entire lamb dish was very bland. It was lacking seasonings and flavour,... More

Had our final meal in Wellington here and it was a definite winner. The place was buzzing when we arrived about 7 pm and we were fortunate to find a table. My French onion Soup was delicious as was the mushroom ravioli my wife enjoyed. I had a simple veal schnitzel for main. Well presented with fresh coleslaw and accompanying... More
