Was here for New Years Eve by pure chance. Great time.. alfresco dining.. great value on drinks and records being played all night long. Was awesome... after living in Sydney for a while.. it was great to experience a good night out with good tunes...More

hands down the best meeting place in christchurch. thursday evening seems to be the best for vintage motorbike porn. happy hour on local brews, good burgers.

We flew into Christchurch from Oz and loved the smash palace burgers & bodgie beers. We then travelled around the South island and couldn't find a burger better. They were even better than the ever famous fergburger!!!! Do yourself a favour be sure to stop...More

Smash Palace is tons of fun! It has live music, good beer, open space, tons of locals and tourists too. Although quiet during the week, this place turns up starting with Friday. They have a fun DJ and people either hangout at tables or dance....More

What a fantastic place, great food, awesome atmosphere if only we lived in CC. Lots of room and cool little spaces to sit, great for big groups or a couple. It's a must visit for travellers.

It is walking distance to Alice in Videoland, so it would be a matter of how busy they are. The food is nothing special there however.
