Had dinner here last night with a work group of 20. Had the set menu. Staff were very accommodating. Food was of a good standard. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the food. Thanks team. Happy to recommend

My husband and I had tried to book here before and it was often booked out. Finally on a Tuesday night we managed to dine there. It was definitely worth the wait and we'll be back. We both had the Cullen Skink for entree-a lovely smoked fish and potato chowder with rich, layered flavours. My husband had Venison and Prune... More
We went here on Saturday night with a small group for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent - very well presented and delicious. The bar upstairs is worth a visit as well, with it's impressive array of whiskies and great atmosphere.
A delicious 'early bird' meal with a group of friends before visiting theatre. Good service, excellent meals and pleasant atmosphere. Good value when using the early bird offer.
Scotia is a Scotch whisky bar and slightly out-of-the-ordinary restaurant a few metres off The Octagon on central Dunedin. The restaurant has an impressive array of single-malt whiskies ... I didn't go upstairs to the bar, but the list of whiskies I saw seemed to include hundreds of single-malts. The restaurant is a full-service, high-quality restaurant that seems to specialise... More
What should have been an enjoyable end to a graduation day was extremely disappointing. We booked Scotia several weeks earlier but we were told the only time available was 5.30 pm as the restaurant was fully booked all evening. We had to pay a deposit of $20 per meal. When we arrived, we were surprised to see several spare tables.... More

There was only 5 tables occupied inside the restaurant at that moment and so i believe we were the last customers to walk... More
Possibly need to book in advance for late evening sitting. Great special if booking before 6pm. Good selection of food on menu . Felt time taken between courses was too long.
I was lucky enough to be treated to dinner at Scotia for a 'big' birthday recently. This really was a treat! The food and friendly service was excellent. I had smoked wild version, for my main course, it was sublime, the flavours blended wonderfully, a masterwork from the chef. The desert was equally fascinating an interesting take on a traditional... We were lucky to get a table here after my son's graduation. The restaurant is quite cosy and we had a table by the fire which was perfect. We had very prompt service, the specials were explained and the food was beautiful. If you want a whisky, they have a huge range, the one recommended to us went down a... More
