I had a Ploughmans lunch, which was large and very tasteful. My husband had beer battered fish and chips. Very tasty, he said. Chips were very crispy and fish was a large piece of blue cod. Beer and wine were both great. Open fire on windy day was welcome.

I dined was part of a group of 5. We were seated promptly close to the open fire which was lovely it added to the already great atmosphere. Table service was prompt and the wait staff attentive and knew the menu really well. I chose a share seafood dish and it was great. Everything on it was cooked well. Some... More

After a morning of sightseeing we called in for a reviving ale and a hearty meal. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Very good home comfort food. Good cosy atmosphere.

Beers, pub food, and a cozy fire place. Some sofas and comfy chairs near the fire. High top tables to sit at around the bar. It is a small place, but a nice spot to sit for a spell and have a beer.

We popped in here to finish a night out with family & friends. We'd already eaten earlier so this was just for drinks. There was a live band with a great mix of old & new music and they were awesome! There was a diverse range of people in there, old and young and everyone seemed to be having a... More

Situated in the heart of Dunedin in the lower Octagon, The Craic is a small cosy bar with good Guinness (and other drinks) and a varied menu which is always reliable.

Well, "Craic" is Gaelic for good conversation. As a bit of chat, "What's the Craic" means what's up or what's happening? The short of it is good food, fine draught on tap, and on Tuesdays, good music. I'll have a Pint of Kilkenny. But you Guinness lovers are accommodated, too. For dinner have the burger with beer battered fries, enough... More

Wandered into here on a cold rainy September night. The Craic is not big, but the food was delicious and the mulled wine was just right.

Called in here on my way back from lunch as I had the urge for a nice cold Guinness. What I got was a lovely cold Guinness served by a very friendly staff member, however at $10.50 it is officially the most expensive Guinness I have even had in NZ. In their defense, the meals that I saw coming out... More
