At the aleshouse for a few drinks with friends before jumping on a plane home to auckland. Great atmosphere and service. We booked a taxi to the airport which didn't turn up - one of the staff saw us looking a little worried - and gave us a lift to the airport at no charge - where can you get... More

Arrived and there was a pleasant atmosphere. Myrtle and I sat upstairs and had a good waiter. Food nice. On our way out I asked a young waitress about the sleights 3 stars and where they came from and I was told very plainly to ask downstairs. Most dismissive and unhelpful. I was very interested and said to Myrtle it... More

Great place for a meal with family or friends. Also child friendly with typical pub meals at good prices. Great selection on the menu with all meals delivered to our table being quite large serves. All Speights products are on tap. We really enjoy the 5 Malt Dark Ale, so if you enjoy dark beers or stout give it a... More

After trying the Speights Alehouse in another location we were delighted to see another on arriving in Invercargill. We were not disappointed by the staff or the food at this restaurant either. Absolutely delightful food!

The receptionist at the Quest said this was the best place to eat with very friendly staff. She as not wrong. Cheeky and friendly staff from entering. I had pork belly and husband had lamb. Both outstanding dishes.

A cosy pub on a freezing day, open fire making the definite chill of the day disappear. A very friendly barman and a welcoming decor. Locals seemed to love it, from all walks of life....

Called in here as my son who lives local had told us about it. Eldest son impressed and enjoyed it. Myself thought the music was a little too loud and was a little to dark inside for my liking. Staff very friendly though and not a bad visit.

Speights know how to keep a standard going. Late afternoon, battered Blue Cod chips and salad for two all washed down with their excellent IPA. OK, not fine dining but just good food. As usual the surrounding TV screens are distracting, almost demanding you to watch and the music was a bit intrusive.......all very Speights and pretty good.

A first class brewery and tour. Loads of history and beautifully maintained equipment. Ends with a leisurely taste of all the beers on tap.
