We arrived early by car from Queenstown and were looking for a place to eat lunch. Taking fellow tripadvisors recommendation we chose The Saucy Chef. It's a nice restaurant that makes you feel comfortable. The menu is pretty extensive and inviting. We choose Oysters and Soup for first course and blue cod and lamb burger for the main dish. Everything... More

Very enjoyable meal. Had the rib eye steak with red wine jus. The jus was very good (I can be very fussy with it) but overall was presented extremely well. The staff were very friendly and checked in on me throughout my meal. I would defiantly recommend and would come again to eat.

What a great change from our last dine out. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Sumanto was our waiter and saw to our needs. My wife had cod and I had salmon. Mine was as good as the salmon meals I had in Canada. The place is pleasantly modern and serves a wide variety of dishes. Good value, you won't... More

We were recommended this restaurant by the motel we were staying in. It was busy when we arrived so we waited a short while for a table to become free. Food was good, as was the service. We had driven around the town and hadn't seen many restaurants, so if your are in Invercargill I would recommend The Saucy Chef.

I'll say up front that I tend to be a bit cynical when it comes to licensing trust pubs so that said this place breaks the mould. Eighteen of us rocked up and the staff made us really welcome and we're extremely professional. The food is without doubt exceptional and the menu choice wide and varied. There was a bit... More

Always enjoy he food here, the menu is large so there is plenty of choice for every taste, don't forget to check out the specials. The restaurant decor is very stylish and comfortable. The staff are very nice and extremely attentive. It can get busy so best to book.

As always, I'm never disappointed with the food and service here. Thanks to our lovely waitress Georgia for looking after us, and thanks to the awesome kitchen staff for our delicious meals 😁 My gurnard (the fish of the day) served on a pumpkin purée with asparagus, prawns etc was to die for!

While it has been open for a while, we have never actually been. We were very pleasantly surprised. The decor was inviting and the service very good. The menu is quite extensive and caters to a wide variety of tastes. There are a number of dishes with locally sourced produce such as hare, goat, venison, blue cod, buffalo as well... More

My wife & I had dinner here while on holiday from Palmerston North. The standard f food is outstanding. An extensive menu for all tastes. I had the beer battered blue cod which was beautiful. My wife had the surf and turf which she loved. Both plates were cleaned and then I had the raspberry and white choc mudcake which... More
