We were heading for the very new looking MacDonalds (stayed just down the road) as a final night on tour and we wanted a good quick meal. McD got the thumbs down before we walked in and we did a quick drive around the block - finally walked into the Alehouse as - looked friendly and inviting plus possibly had... More

This place is huge. We had chicken salad and beer. Standard fair. Sort of a sports bar. We were the only ones here on a sunny afternoon after a walk around the lake from the Hilton, but I think it gets really busy, parking lot was always full when we drove by on the shuttle. Service was good. Staff friendly.

First time here, was a good steak, cooked rare as I wanted, chips and salad were good as well. Pub itself has a good layout. Seemed family friendly and fairly busy. Seems as though it was missing something. Wouldn't rush back, but wasn't bad!

We had a meal at this restaurant, we both had steak and it was very well cooked and we could not fault it. The meal did take sometime to arrive but it was well worth the wait. I recommend this restaurant to one and all.

Was! a nice pub, but I feel the food had lost class, staff not overly accommodating, small portions, presentation only average. Ordered fish, was overcooked and small portions at a high price.

We came here in the morning to have a coffee before our drive to Te Anau and because a cricket match was on that my boyfriend wanted to watch. On the internet it said that the opening time was 10am. When we got there at 10.30 the doors were still locked but TVs were turned on. As my boyfriend is... More

This restaurant is very clise to my work place. It is a basic NZ ale house but the food is quite good, reasonable price. Staff members are always friendy. I like their chicken wings with separate sauce and steak. The service is quick too. Just don't like the location/view which is by the main road.

We popped by Frankton Ale House after walking around downtown and enjoyed eating outside on a beautiful day. Our meals were great, swift service and for a medium sized space, we were not over crowded even while it was busy. There was even live music near by to enjoy.

Food was very disappointing. Bring back Famous Kelly's! Had the Steak Sandwich which read ok the menu, when it arrived it was luke warm on a un-toasted slab of ciabatta.... Needles to say... It ate like a soggy gross mess!
