We were feeling like eating Chinese food after eating Western food for two weeks. To our surprise the Ming Garden actually offered a very extensive Chinese food menu. We played it safe and ordered fried rice, vegetables and a beef dish. The food was perfectly good. We were quite happy with the service as well.

The food is good. And the serving is too much for me that time! I just finished my great walk and was thinking of having a soup! Their wonton soup is good. A bit spicy and the noodles taste right for my buds!

Good authentic chinese food at a reasonable price. If you're not looking for anything fancy, but just a solid home-cooked chinese dinner after walking the Milford track - this is the place to go.

We tried Ming Garden one night in October while travelling through Te Anau. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food and the service! The couple next to us even found a hair in their dish and they confused orders. I have never eaten such a bad Sweet and Sour chicken and Singapore Noodles. The starter did not... More

Disgusting. I had the sweet and sour chicken and noodles to take away. Wish I'd checked here before going in. The whole thing was tasteless, and the chicken was horrible fatty cheap lumps as you can see in the photo. Filled out with huge chunks of cauliflower! Couldn't get half way through. Even gave up on the noodles. Go anywhere... More

Ming Garden seems to get a lot of tourist bus visitors. This impacts the level of service that they offer to the ordinary individual guest. Very slow ordering, serving etc The food was OK but on the expensive side. it was also a little bland although we did like the lemon chicken. Ming Garden is located right in the center... More

The place look like the Chinese restaurant back in 90's. Foods are average and not quite expensive but the portions are smaller than normal Chinese restaurant. Do not order hot & sour group!!!!

We were super hungry and want to have a good food to be ready for the Kepler track on the next day. So we chose Chinese food at the end. The restaurant was quite busy for the asian group tours but the food is served fast. Waitresses are able to speak English but not all. So misunderstand some times. The... More
