Cosy pub, friendly staff, burger was quite good, hot chocolate nice, vegan options, would return but would book in advance as limited seating, small car round the back.

A group of us came to see the Robbie Williams tribute evening (Dan Budd as Robbie Williams was very entertaining) in the upstairs 505 room. The menu choices were excellent, the food was delicious, and the service from the superb staff was first class. The...evening was great value for money and I would highly recommend an evening in the 505 room and indeed the White Horse in general! One member of our group cannot eat gluten due to coeliac disease and thanks to the clearly labelled menu, the extensive variety of dishes available and the considerate and caring nature of the staff (who proactively advised our friend that the kitchen had separate areas and equipment for producing the gluten free dishes) was made to feel very welcome and comfortable and they had a great evening. If only more venues could follow the fine example set by the White Horse in catering for people who cannot eat gluten.More
The food is great and the setting pleasant. It was good enough for us to return a second time during our 10 day stay.
When not much is open, I was not expecting tasty, fast, cheap pizza from an otherwise fancy-looking pub. Exceedingly pleasant surprise. Plenty of topping, excellent crust. Would return!
We visited on a Sunday afternoon, as we were really keen to try the roast dinner at the White Horse. They kindly squeezed us in at short notice which we really appreciated! It was busy when we arrived, but we received a friendly welcome and...were seated quickly. We went for the beef roast dinner, which was amazing! Huge portions and plenty of cauliflower cheese and vegetables for us all. We were really impressed by the standard of the food and the value for money. Couldn’t manage dessert unfortunately, but maybe next time! Will definitely be back, and would highly recommend the White Horse to anyone looking for an excellent local pub lunch.More
Stunning meal with friends. Food was amazing and so tasty. Service was really good and staff very friendly. And even better as the other restaurant we had booked cancelled our booking as they had no chef. An excellent find and would certainly go back.
Went today for Sunday lunch food was great and portions very good couldn’t fault it at all including pudding
Lunch with friends prior to an evening party. Lovely meal, good pleasant service from the very helpful staff. Highly recommend.
I was delightfully blown away by this pub. Great surroundings, really polite and helpful staff with the nothings to much trouble attitude from times gone by. We had three cod & chips and a Sunday roast beef. Well, the Roast was amazing! actually enough for...two! And the cod was massive! Nice amount of chunky chips for a change! Honestly, we eat out quite a bit and I have to say the food is absolutely top notch and would highly recommend this establishment! But the icing on the cake is nearly everything on the menu can be gluten free! I’m gluten intolerant and have been caught out so many times by places claiming that this and that are gluten free then being quite ill for days after… Not at the White Horse… ALL the cod & chips are gluten free and trust me you can’t tell the difference! I thought I was going to take one for the team, again… But NO! It was fantastic!! We will definitely eat there every time we’re up in Quorn which is pretty regular of late.. The menu is sooo extensive you’ll never get bored there and it’s all freshly cooked. If I could give it 6 stars I would! Give it a go you’ll love it!More
I Had been previously and had a great time, but this time, extremely rude and unhelpful staff who seemed annoyed that they had customers to serve. A large portion of the clientele are chavvy coke heads, with an almost constant noise of sniffing every time...you use the mens toilet. So if your looking for a nice friendly atmosphere to have a meal or a few drinks I would avoid this pub.More
Have been to this establishment a few times over the past year. Stopped here for lunch this time and service was very friendly as always. We both had sandwiches which were very tasty, along with fries and coleslaw (also lovely). Nice decor and layout here,...so lots of different areas to choose from to eat or drink. Prices a little on the high side, but on par with other establishments in the area. You don’t mind paying a bit extra when you get good service and a nice ambiance.More
I highly recommend the White Horse for a private party after booking the private '505' room for my 30th Birthday party on bank holiday Saturday. Everything was so easy, from the initial enquiry to booking, ordering food, payment etc. The staff on the night were...really attentive, food came out at the time it was requested for, the bar was always manned meaning that people didn't have to wait to be served and the food was great; it was just generally a stress-free, easy experience. Special mentions to Dionne for helping me organise everything and also to Natalie who served us all on the night.More
Unfriendly, no WiFi, told us to sit by the toilet, seemed discriminatory as they let the drunken crowds choose where they'd like to sit. Booked for dinner and after we had chosen what we wanted and already paid for overpriced drinks they told us that...they only had pizza on the menu. I'm sorry to the staff members who were friendly, but overall a cold, unwelcoming atmosphere.More
This is a "pub" for locals who find it very good. However, as someone coming in from the next village it is obvious that living little more than two miles away doesn't count as "local". Having asked for, and been offered, a quiet table we...were placed under one of the TVs. This meant half the pub were looking at the TV over our heads. Behind us was a table of approaching twenty so I find it hard to believe what a "loud" table would have been like. The food was okay - my pizza was nice, but my wife's fish had clearly been for a swim in a vat of oil; it was excessively greasy. We contemplated pudding but the unswerving gaze of half the pub and gastric uncomfortableness brought on by greasy fish had us thinking better of it. Won't be returning and unless you live within the village boundaries I would not recommend this place.More
