Had a beautiful experience at the San Martino, the onsite restaurant of our accommodation at the Hunter Valley Resort. We ordered the lamb rump, pizza and a few sides. Everything ordered was delicious and well priced. The service was excellent, the setting was candlelit, romantic but also very family friendly. You can order from the San Martino and choose to... What else can I say, we really enjoyed the food and the service from the people working there is top level, very friendly and warm.

Went to try the craft beers, these were good. But I made the mistake of ordering a steak $32.00 to be drenched in black sauce that was near uneatable. The pasta was gluggy and bland. Go for the beers not the food.

We first arrived and were seated as one would expect. After ordering, we were able to hear the kitchen staff yelling and swearing at each other. Once our meals arrived the steak was an odd flavour as though it was marinated in soy sauce and the pasta dish was drastically under seasoned and bland. Overall a very underwhelming dinner experience... More

Ater we ordered our food, we were given a pager and then had to go and collect it when the pager went off. Hardly what I call restaurant service - more like fast food. Not impressed

Full of eastern promise but the wine school was closed for the day. So was the sweet counter and the coffee counter. The man at the wine cellar didn't acknowledge us at all and there was only one couple in the room. And in the brewhouse there were 3 couples and the waitress was on the phone. And this was... More

What a disappointment, we traveled to the hunter resort looking forward to a wonderful dessert bar experience after a wonderful long lunch (at a near by restaurant) We arrive full of excitement, but that soon faded, it's just a small room with a very uninterested girl behind the counter, a few bits of chocolate and olives on display, and a... San Martino is quite possibly served the worst meal out I've ever had; this is an accomplishment, because it means that a chinese meal which gave me food poisoning tops it. At least that meal tasted good on the way down. We visited as part of a wine tour, so pre-ordered from a 4-option menu. I selected the spinach and... More

I proposed to my girlfriend at this restaurant. I called in 10 days in advance to make a booking, the staff were just as excited as I was and assured me they would make the necessary arrangements when the time comes. On the night the staff did everything perfectly, the ambience, the food, the people. Just fantastic. Tips well deserved... More

Was very disappointed with the unfriendly service. No smiles. The pizza was cold and below average. I would not visit again.
