The service was excellent as was the food. For the main we had ocean trout. Everything was cooked to perfection. The sauces were innovative and very tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive.

We were recommended to dine at Black Cow by some friends that had recently visited Launceston, from the moment I rang to book I was impressed. The Customer Service is exceptional, we were lucky enough to be allocated the Private Dining Room for our dinner as there was 6 of us. Our waiter for the night was Lawrence and he... More

Food was great, at least what they gave me. Small portions for money and when I asked for a coke they gave me Caffeine liberated cola, I couldn't drink the disgusting stuff.

We visited Black Cow a week ago and had the best meal on our 2 week Tasmania trip (and for quite some time). Service was friendly and professional and our steaks and desserts were excellent. We're Melbourne based and dream of this as our regular when nothing but a well sourced and cooked steak is on our minds. We've tried... More

This was our third visit here over the last 2 years and once again it was superb, the food and the service left nothing to be asked. As a group of two couples, we started with some bread whilst working out the menu, delicious and crunchy. Moving onto the entrees we decided to share a couple as we wanted to... More

Not many better steaks in the world than here and great wine list. Can cater for four well in dining room or say 14 in their private area in cellar rood which is great fun.

I could have eaten here every day of our trip. The service was impeccable and the food was even better. We shared a steak between us and had a bunch of sides. Full of flavour and highly quality meat. The wait staff were knowledgeable and very professional. This restaurant came as a recommendation to us and we will highly recommend... More

Ordered the Calamari as an appetizer, it was not what I had expected, cooked with a spicy sausage. The New York Steak was superb, succulent, cut like butter, cooked to perfection, frankly the 450 gram portion was more than I really wanted, all washed down with a local Taymar Vally Pinot Noir, light & delightful. Service was highly efficient, if... More

Totally the best wagyu i have ever eaten! The fussy husband was quiet as he polished his plate off too. Sad we couldn't stay for dessert as we had two restless toddlers (not a great place to take young children!) Wow! what a meal. Best service in Launceston and tasty cocktails.
