Have always loved Pipers, but not today. Change of management I am told. Stood at the door waiting to be seated for a long time, until it became uncomfortable, eventually we were seated. Our order was taken by a lovely, smiling staff member Rob. We were not impressed with the revised menu. Ordered one entree to share, two mains and... More

We first visited Pipers three years ago, shortly after they opened in the morning. It wasn't busy and in fact, there were eight other people in the place. We ordered coffee and some cakes and waited for 40 minutes. I had thought that this might be an anomaly, but our second visit last week we discovered that despite half a... More

First time here and last. When we stopped to look at Menu a young waiter passed to put out another signboard not so much as a smile Good Morning NOTHING.(that should have been the sign to just walk away),went inside and waited like two lost children while the waiter came in and passed without saying a word, he walks up... Had lunch and ordered a bottle of wine to enjoy. ..Lunch arrived promptly but no wine..had to go and collect myself 15 minutes after the lunch. This has happened to me in the past..they just don't seem to understand that drinks should be served to enjoy with your meal..food good and staff friendly but something really needs to be done... We have eaten there 3 times in 2016 having been away from Ballarat for 8 years. Breakfast, in January was the first time with some friends from WA. Between 4 of us, only one was a nice meal. Lunch, in May, with a friend didn't prove any better. Thought we would give it a 3rd go for lunch on as... More

To be honest the last time my family and I came here we weren't that impressed. Food was average at best and considering the price it could've been a lot better, along with the service. Good luck getting a seat too. Do yourself a favour and take a picnic up to the Lake and sit on the grass. You'll have... More

My wife and I decided to take my mother out for lunch at Pipers. We were greeted by a staff member who asked if we were there for lunch, and curtly told us they would close for a private function at 2:30 (this was at 1:15). It was a pleasant day so we elected to take an outdoor table. The... More

Went for New Years Eve lunch with family. Mum is a diabetic. Waited 20 minutes then had to ask twice for our order to be taken. Asked for drinks and food order to be taken together to speed things up. 40 minutes later no drinks no food. I asked at the bar for mums drink as her sugar levels were... More

Magnificent location and venue, OK food though haphazard service. Visiting Ballarat and dropped in for lunch. Not a bad menu though experienced a long wait for any service, and again for meals to arrive. Steak sandwich dish came minus the menu description of chips. Whiting dish comprised excess of over cooked batter. Coffee was great though.

Beautiful location by Lake Wendouree is unfortunately let down by some very bad quality food. Our whiting was cremated in burnt up batter, the steak sandwich was over cooked and the kids ham cheese and pineapple pizza was terrible with no ham and pineapple and an unbelievably thick base.
