We could only get a very late booking at 9.30pm however we were taken to our table at 9.10 - bonus. Service was excellent and efficient while waiting prior to dinner and during dinner service. Wine list excellent. Food was generally excellent however my husband had the Wagyu beef and was disappointed especially given it was VERY expensive. Overall a... More

There are quite a few reviews on this place that talk about it being semi finished - and it is! However, if you are really keen to try it out then go for it. You won't be disappointed. The old Stokehouse was OK, I never raved about it like some. It was tired, the cooling system was rubbish and way... More

Super Excited to have our Stokehouse back!! That didn't last long . None of the original staff/ stokehouse family .We visited before Christmas and it was such a disappointing experience . The place was dusty and unfinished , the acoustics were terrible, the din rendering it hard to hear your table conversation . The low hanging lights and closeness of... More

We were somewhat hesitant about returning to the new Stokehouse at St Kilda. We loved the old place and the large concrete structure was / is 'in your face'. But, what a delight when we entered and it had the feel of the old Stokehouse - new, modern and rebuilt after the fire. A great window seat on a very... More

Visited Stokehouse on a quick trip back to Melbourne in February and was not disappointed. It was a lovely balmy Melbourne Summer evening and we started with a drink on the bar outside. Vista is sensational and only complaint I had was the cigarette smokers ruining it for those non smokers. Sat down late as the sun set and enjoyed... More

Firstly, I want to say how lovely it was to visit the Stokehouse after 2 years of long awaited rebuild of a St Kilda icon. The restaurant was interesting and nice but not sure if they thought about everything. For example there is a large balcony you enter from the restaurant which was closed due to high winds....well, it's the... More

The Stokehouse organised two tables of ten for us. The place was buzzing so we had drinks around the table. We sat down to a 3 course dinner from the chef's selection menu; entree, mains and desserts. Everything that came out from the kitchen was absolutely outstanding and well presented. Everybody commented on the deliciousness of each course. The timely... More

Oysters were great. I had barimundi that I will remember forever (buttery, crispy skin - perfection). My daughter had the swordfish with melon balled cucumber and tiny berry sized apples that was delightful. Mixed drink was great. We were walk ins and were graciously welcome but her 2 hours because of a later reservation and that was fine, we were... More

It's a 'mixed bag experience' at the new beaut Stokehouse. Architecture impressive on arrival but feels unfinished inside aside from being an industrial space. Staff friendly and well presented. Not a fan of upstairs concrete bunker lined with timber or tacky red spray paint on stairs. Booking system needs some sorting, struck by not having the balcony to sit out... More
