When I called my mate Steve and told him we were staying in St. Kilda he said 'you like fish - go to Claypots... if you can, sit outside in the courtyard'... an hour later, we were. Good call, Steve! The waiters were really friendly and helpful. We were recommended a chilli and garlic giant prawn each to start and... More

I love fresh seafood and they serve it nicely. but I feel Im paying for the bohemian decor and trendy moustached waiters. so as good as it was I didn't feel we got value for money. better recipes and prices elsewhere

We visited the Pub attached to it on a Saturday afternoon watching "Elvis" What a great entertainment! Real local atmosphere. In the evening we dined and the Seafood is fresh and the cooking is outstanding. We had Claypot, Singapore Mudcrab...just delicious. The waitresses and waiters are very friendly and efficient, we felt like VIP's.

Love, love, love this place. It is a sweet Saint K treat to sit outside on a warm summer's night with a crisp bottle of white and indulge in the vast array of fresh seafood. The 'size-of-your-palm' garlic prawns are so superb, swimming in chili and garlic oil with Turkish bread for sopping, they are a must as a starter!... More

Claypots has an extensive seafood selection, the "Cajun Flathead", "Creole Gumbo" and "Crispy Skin John Dory" are awesome! The wine list is extensive and the cocktails are excellent! The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful matching your wine to your menu selection. The restaurant is located around the corner from the Tram 96 stop in Acland Street, so need to... More

My wife and I had lunch here after seeing good reviews and we were blown away with the food. We ordered a chilli crab ($60) and a Singaporean claypot ($20)- best $80 lunch we have ever had. The servings were generous but the freshness of the seafood really stood out. I would have preferred the chilli crab to be a... More

We went there last week on recommendation from a friend who had been there previously and raved about it. As we arrived on a hot night, we were told we could not sit outside as requested as it might rain. The waiter, who did not really speak english ( and as we found out later only started that day!) did... More

Stumble across this very unusual and funky bar/seafood restaurant on lazy Sunday afternoon walk around St Kilda. Our attention attracted interesting from window and nice music coming from inside. Bar was just getting ready for opening and musicians were preparing to start. The whole group of us had a great time enjoying great music by Shuffle Club and few nice... More
