My wife and I try to book this restaurant each visit to Whangarei . We are never disappointed . While the menu is not large , the food is expertly prepared , most nourishing and delivered by pleasant staff . The team here is always responsive to any special requests . My eye filet steak was superb , cooked exactly... More

Visited the once for a family dinner. Was very nice, food was good. Waitress was a bit weird / ocd which was odd. Recommended.

I lovely restaurant, upmarket service and food. I have been here several times and the friendly helpful staff, and the cuisine has been wonderful. The only problem I have is the acoustics are not good in a large group. Which is a shame for such a wonderful place to eat.

My friends and I do dinner dates often. We try lots of different restaurants and foods. This one so far is in our top 3. The mushroom risotto was a hit for me, I could eat that by itself and still rate this restaurant a 5!! Amazing entrée and desert with fantastic attention to detail. Easily a favorite and first... I have been to Tonic multiple times over the past few years, mainly for the Sunday night set menu (which I LOVE). However this was my first time going for lunch. Thursday before Christmas and we were the only ones in there at first. Great price at $25 for a main and dessert. Have had fantastic mojitos in the past... More

Couldn't fault it really. Food, service, music(not too loud but a great playlist) was all excellent. We were staying on Kamo road as well so the location was ideal.

Very pleased with the taste of the food. Presented well. Went for lunch with work colleagues. Lunch serve on the small size but the overall taste trumped that. Dinner servings are a good size. Friendly staff.

A jewel in Whangerai...I have enjoyed Tonic about five times already and it never disappoints. My husband and I will be back for sure. Fish of the day is always exquisite...

Finally a restaurant that delivers fresh food prepared well. Original flavours and good value. Service was friendly and the decor clean and simple but stylish. My only advice book or you will be disappointed.

My partner and I stayed in Whangerei earlier this month and Tonic was the best part of our stay! We had heard lots of good things, so decided to see for ourselves and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted warmly by the owner Logan, and as there were just a few other tables booked in on this rainy Monday night,... More
