We came here for a late morning tea and coffee and ended up ordering lunch. We were not disappointed. We had whiting and prawns with salad and chips. The oil they cooked in seemed fresh and the salad was lovely. They had a dressing that was very nice. Enjoyed it and will come back definitely. The waitress who seemed very... More

Have had a few meals here. The staff are lovely and personal. They have regulars but treat casual drop ins the same. The food is excellent and I would eat anything on the menu in fact I have trouble choosing as everything tastes good

Definately a must stop for brekky lunch and dinner Had breakfast a number of times but have been told by friends the lunch and dinner menus are excellent. The head waitress is a delight and makes the experience even more fun very good service

Menu looks very good. We only stopped for coffee. Presentation was slack. Raisin toast just toasted. No knife initially to apply butter. Coffee was very good but spilt in saucer. Good for pet dog. Pricing is average

This restaurant is very basic. It sits people inside and outside The food is average. Service is average. The staff tries their best, but against all odds they are fighting a losing battle.

We were staying at Hervey Bay at a mate's place and saw the Black Dog restaurant as we walked along the esplanade. Looked like a great place to have dinner so we did. Wine list was limited and overpriced for the wines available. $30 for a wine worth $10. We both ordered the 'pawterhouse' 350 gm steak. When it came... More

looked like a great setting with lots of chairs out the front on the esplanade and promising wine list so we ordered snack of guacamole. It was obviously a packet mix full of philly cheese and little avocado. We thought dinner may have been more successful but no. His udon noodle main meal was appalling and mine not much better.... I had the Canadian pancakes. I'd never tried this arrangement before and was very pleasantly surprised. I added tea and an OJ.
