I had dinner there on two occasions and both where unfortunately not great. The staff is more interested to chat to each other than serving customers. Last visit we ask to see the dessert menu and where told that the kitchen is closed now!!!!!! No warning beforehand and it wasn't even late in the night! Go Figure??? The tables surface... More

The food was delicious however. We order a whole bunch of different things (pizza, chips etc.) and shared which... More

Our group of 7 were well looked after when we had lunch on a busy Saturday. Sadly the chicken salad on the menu wasn't available, but the prawn salad replacement was excellent.

First night in New Zealand. Walk along the beach and then went for a meal at the gypsy. It was a balmy evening and restaurant was quiet. We sat outside on the terrace with the a sea breeze listening to an 80's play list. Had big bird pizza which was tasty and a local beer and a glass of sav.... More

Three of us had lunch here and the services and all the dishes were great. I had the recommended Thai Beef salad and this was absolutely gorgeous. Tender beef strips, mango and a sweet Thai sauce. A new favourite and I can now recommend it too. Also liked the retro wallpaper. Worth visiting.

One customer occupied a 6-seater table, with her dog beside her, and a salad in front of her, for almost 2 hours. I suppose you can't blame the staff for that, but it kinda set the tone for the strange overall experience of the night. As others have mentioned, the surface of the tables, indoors at least, are sticky as... More
