Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the worse meals for a long time anywhere. We went in the evening on a high recommendation. I chose the half cooked ( mi cuit) fois gras as I am not a fan of octopus and having been in Dordogne for almost 2...weeks had not had my usual starter. Good but served with plain bread rather than toast as in others photos. Lazy chef. Then for the worst of it. We both opted for the rack of lamb. Other options bring a burger of magret (why would you do that?) and Dorada. Having asked for it pink (rosette rather than a pointe) it looked as though it had just been banged in the oven. The chine was still in nor “French trimmed “. Having not been adequately seared before cooking it turned out to be a greasy under cooked almost impossible to cut mess. The only thing in prep was that the chef had carved it to the chine. All the ingredients of dauphinois potatoes were there but lumpy and under cooked. Deserts. Chocolate fondant with raspberry sorbet was ok. Tiramisu was ok but disassembled as we have experienced before. Both served with canned chantilly cream which was thin and tasteless. Why do they do this. It takes no time at all to make A far superior offering. At €119 not a good deal. Anyway at least we were able to take away the remaining Pecharment to enjoy after driving home. Won’t be back.More

What a great little place this is. 3 courses for 25€ and a real taste of local cuisine to go with it. You always know its a good place to go when the locals go and drink the wine you love from a vine yard...we visited earlier in the week. Thanks for having us, it was well worth the trip!More

Excellent food / friendly service / lovely location - highly recommend. Not the cheapest in the world fir the set menu but to be expected in a touristy area - my wife had the smoked mackerel off the à la carte menu which was delicious

We chanced upon this place quite by accident and it ended up being the best meal I had in France. The fish was cooked in paper to perfection, with fresh vegetables and a light bed of rice. The outdoor venue was delightful, shaded by trees...with a view of the historical church. The owner spoke to us in English about her and her husband's passion for excellence and freshness.More

This gem in the heart of the Dordogne countryside looks quaint and unpretentious, but the home cooked, home prepared food was absolutely scrumptious. Great flavours wonderful tastes and whacking sized servings. The lady of the house if so friendly and helpful my average ability In...French secured us the just about perfect meal. The Bergerac Rose to accompany it also did the trick. The Armagnac on the house with the coffee was also very welcome. A super evening was enjoyed by us all!More

As a frequent visitor, my full recommendations are not yet enough. Eve (the Boss) and her staff, Arnaud in particular, are sentient & friendly people, most aware of the customer's needs as the day develops. Great food & a wonderful person to person experience. Intelligent...human beings we feel so grateful to meet. Thank you for your loving welcome. 💖👃👃👍👍🖖🏼👍More

What an amazing experience! My young daughter and I ate here for lunch. The staff was friendly and had the prix fixe menu in French and English. Lunch was prix fixe. A wonderful tomato salad, delicious duck confit on the bone, and a perfect cake...made with fruit from the chef’s garden. Absolutely satisfying and delightful. The service was wonderful. Arnaud was our server and he was lovely. He was very kind to my 7 year old and he was prompt with all of my requests. Chef made my daughter a pasta bowl with chicken that was 5 stars as well. I highly recommend!More

We were part of a big party. Nevertheless the fixed party menu was good and imaginative. There is a very informal terrace where one can eat in good weather.

Great meal in a charming spot in a lovely village. This was in fact the best meal my wife and I had in the Dordogne over 2 weeks. The cooking is a notch above the rest and the service was excellent. Well done Team -...you gave us (and our two goldendoodles) a lovely memory and we will be back next year. Merci ❤️More

Lovely ambience that compliments the village perfectly. We were treated to a warm welcome and a great menu. An organised, efficient kitchen served by attentive staff delivering great food which represents value for money. I enjoyed the rabbit dish and was pleasantly surprised by the...portion size. A neat relaxing place to soak in the atmosphere. I will be returning soon!More

We were staying in HPB Constant 25 minutes or so from St. Alvere and wanted something good and local. There is free parking just up the hill from La P'tite Factory and that was an unexpected bonus. Very good food and wine. Warm welcome and...excellent service from a fluent American English speaking waiter - although he finds St. Alvere a little quiet and intends to move back to Paris! When compared with the really excellent restaurants in Bergerac I couldn't quite give it an "excellent" but it was very very good. Its a lovely village and the short walk around the old walls is also very pleasant.More

Our normal rule for lunch in France is “ follow the workmen”…but no EDF vans here just straw hats and leather sandals and linen shirts . We opted for the 17euro 2 course ( no choice ) …..friendly waiter …nice atmosphere . They say that...if you leave a restaurant still hungry you’ve had an excellent meal but this sentiment is pushing it a bit , Starter was a tiny salad with goats cheese in puff pastry …delicious but definitely minimalist,…..main course was pasta and a dozen small mussels in a cream sauce !,…again delicious but hardly mind blowing . I’m glad I didn’t have the pudding for an extra 4 euros ….it looked like a few segments of orange with a scoop of ice cream . It was all over In not much more than 30 minutes and the half liter of house Rose was added to the bill at 11 euros ( by far the MOST we’ve ever paid at lunchtime in France !!) ….we’ll over £20 each in the final countdown. But I don’t want to put you off ….if you’ve a got a fat wallet and want to lose a few pounds then go for it . Value for money ??? …….I think you get the gist!More

Due to my wife's Multiple Sclerosis she requires a dairy free diet which is difficult in France. This restaurant prepared non dairy food excellently. My son is a vegetarian and he was well catered for too. I made up for the rest of my family...by having a delicious lamb dish. The food, service and atmosphere could not be better. Absolutely brilliant.More
