Over the years this restaurant has proven that quality can be kept through time. The 'Olla de carne' a traditional beef soup with vegetables is one of the best you can have.

On the day after Christmas we ate lunch in La Casa Dona Lela, and having learned about the holiday practice of making tamales with pork and corn meal we asked for those as an appetizer, and ordered a couple of other local dishes from the menu. Everything was good about the meal from service to quality of the food, although... More

I asked my hosts to take me to a place where I could eat food special to Costa Rica. They took me to Dona Lela. The menu is extensive and in Spanish and I was overwhelmed. So, my host asked the kitchen to bring us a large platter with lots of samples. And they did! It was big enough to... More

The restaurant is right in the highway and offers tasty local food. I passed by with unknown expectations and lots of hunger. I ate lots of typical dishes and paid reasonable price. Liked it a lot

Awesome large dishes of the most delicious - traditional Costa Rican food. Huge open place, simple but clean, noisy, but friendly. Amazing varied dishes with lots of choices and impressive quantities. Not so cheap, but most likely, after eating great, you will pack a good meal to go!

I go here frequently because I can get there by walking. The food is good. I like the Chifrijo, which the pork is always tender. My kids eat the chicken casado. It is kind of expensive and the service isn't the fastest, but I usually go for lunch and I'm not in a rush

This restaurant serve traditional Costa Rican food. The service is average but the quality of the food is great. Because of it's concept, you won't be getting regular tables or chairs, the whole concept is like a traditional Costa rican house from the last century. It's a great place for families as well.
