Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place has excellent pasta and a great wine list. I had the ravioli in an amazing cream sauce that had a touch of gorgonzola. It paired so well with the Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio! The service is also excellent.

The restaurant is located near by Albachiara Hotel in 27 de febrero street. It is a fine dining, very romantic italian restaurant beautifully decorated. We went there on Tuesday oct13 at 8pm for my bday dinner with husband and toddler. We had a very good...experience, The food was very good and the portions were satisfactory, the staff was very attentive polite, and quick, you can tell they follow high standards 👍🏼 the prices are similar than the rest of the restaurant in Las Terrenas, we went to campo kitchen and rama de olivo and we paid similar amounts. At the end of the bill Dolce vita was probably like us10 more but it was absolutely worthy considering the food, the service and the whole experience. They have more than 70 plates. I saw 20 As starters but I didn’t like any so I asked the waiter if they could do fried calamari or chicken croquettes and he said yes 👏🏼 they also brought a basket of bread as a courtesy. for main course my husband ordered beef medallions covered with bacon and mushroom sauce with white rice on the side and I ordered linguine with shrimps in white sauce. Unfortunately the waiter misunderstood my husband and brought pork medallions instead of beef but no worries at all since the pork was exquisite! I wish I ordered the same instead of the linguine because the pasta was a little bit undercooked and I love the pasta al dente but really, this one was a bit undercooked but it was just ok, I could still eat it. Maybe all this was because we have a curfew from 9pm on so they were under the pressure of time. We saw the owner on sight hosting and supervising the service and the whole guest experience. He seemed very involved in the service to make sure everything goes as it should 🙌🏻 found him to be very respectful and willing to help but seemed a little bit strict/serious. Again, Maybe because he was under the pressure to close the restaurant in 1hr (9pm) so they had to make sure to finish the service on time without affecting guest experience. I wish we went early so we could enjoy a little bit more and maybe I could have tell them it was my birthday but didn’t want to bother. Good to know: they have high chair, they accept credit card, they are on instagram as “dolcevitaristorante” and on Facebook as dolce.vita.58118774 (search it as people, not groups or pages) and their phone number is +1 (809) 989-5766 Other suggestions: -some bars and restaurants closes some week days so before you go, you have to check with them -I heard there is an issue with mosquitoes in Las Terrenas. I didn’t have much trouble (just in coson beach was terrible) but make sure to carry repellent with you all the time just in case ok (and maybe a mosquito nest for the crib if you come with babies) -not all restaurants take credit card and not all of them have high chairs, and some of them have just one. (Ask before you go)More

We heard a lot of good stuff about this Italian restaurant. Big was our disappointment. Food was not refined and service was so so. Clearly as a non frequent visitor we were not really well looked after. We ordered as starters the octopus. It was...drowning in greasy tomato sauce. Main course we ordered linguini pesto with shrimps and black spaghetti with langoustine. Big volume but linguini tasted bitter and shrimps were over cooked. Spaghetti was ok. We had to ask 3x for the bill. Clearly, the owners were busy with others Italian customers. Staff was not allowed to bring the check. A disappointing experience.More

Fabulous food. Great service. Have been coming to Las Terrenas for many years, and always include La Dolce Vita at least twice. Try the spicy clam baptizer., any of the steaks and pasta. Staff has been the same for many years and that makes for...quality and consistency.More

The food is ok but the service here is appalling. We were just one of two tables for an early dinner but could we get a menu? a drink? someone to take our order? No. Servers just stood around chatting and debating which one of...them should be serving us. We only got their attention when we stood up to leave. A pity because the food is not bad and it's convenient to where we've been staying for the last 5 years. Try Le Tre Caravelle instead (also on the beach road nearer to Punta Popy) for good food AND good service.More

Hubby and I had our first dinner out in Las Terrenas last night and chose to eat at La Dolce Vita following several friends’ recommendations. I must say, it didn’t just only live to our expectations, it actually exceeded them by far! The place is...nice and cosy, all staff are very courteous and the owner is super helpful and very accommodating. All recommendations he made were spot on, he asked questions to understand what my palate was after and suggested the perfect dishes and wine. I had a steak tartare that was out of this world and, to follow, a fillet steak with a lovely mushroom & truffle sauce, which was also to die for! The meats were of superior quality and perfectly dry-aged, so were deliciously tasty. Hubby had a prawn & lobsters grill to start with and a pasta dish as main (lobster linguine). I’m allergic to shellfish so couldn’t taste his dishes, but he said it was the freshest seafood and that everything was cooked to perfection. The complimentary sides were lovely as well (I highly recommend the roast spuds, nice & crispy and with the perfect amount of rosemary 👌🏼😋) Excellent value for money too as the portions are rather generous (if you’re not a big eater you totally wanna share that tartare, must have been an ox’s quarter on that plate! 😅 LOL) We will most definitely be back several times to try the rest of that large menu where every option sounds more scrumptious that the other! Thanks for the warm welcome, La Dolce Vita! See you soon again!!!More

A superb Italian restaurant with a large menu. Give the tortellini in duck ragout a miss, but steaks are good cooked over an open fire. A medium steak may come rare to almost blue so specify exactly how you like your steak. Service is prompt...and friendly.More
