Thank you for your great feedback! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit we look forward to welcoming you at The Doghouse again soon.
The pub is dominated by big TV screens showing sport with the sound up loud but, just as you enter on the left hand side there was a separate area with a huge screen but the sound was moderate - we could talk to each...other - so that's where we sat. It was early evening so the live bands hadn't started yet. The menu is fairly small - we chose fish & chips and tempura battered king prawns with an Asian style stir fry and both meals were very nice. While we were eating a group came in and ordered pizza, burgers etc and their food looked nice too. We wanted a simple pub - type meal and that's what we got. It's a pity that there isn't an area where you can get away from the sport or the noise though.More
Thank you for your honest feedback, this will help us to improve the quality of our service we provide to all our guests. We have recently come out with a new menu with lots of amazing dishes on! We hope to see you next time.
Struggled to book on line so walked up to book, didn’t need to book as plenty of room. Helpful staff and superb meal, especially the dessert!
Thank you for your great feedback ElizabethH2553! We are glad you enjoyed your meal and visit, we look forward to welcoming you back at The Doghouse soon.
Reasonably priced food- good choice of menu, pub atmosphere with large screens showing football matches everywhere.

A salad and pizza were ordered as a take out. The salad was a main at £10 but was the size of a side salad. The pizza was clearly a cheap frozen pizza. Both tasted okay but was not worth the price and were overall...disappointing.More
We have booked online to eat dinner at 21:30. When we arrived there at 21:40 they told us the kitchen was closed already.
We went their to watch a “ Guns N Roses “ tribute act which were really good. The pub is famous for bringing tribute acts over and you can get food as well. The food is fine not gourmet but you are ready their to...see the bands.More
I came here for the live music and had booked a table for dinner. The menu was more interesting than most of Guernsey's pubs. The meals were excellent. Staff rushed from serving behind the bar to waiting tables, but were on top of everything. They...were friendly and helpful and the service was great. Sky football highlights were on, but muted. A range of recorded music played at a moderate level: mostly rock, plus a lot of 50s rock & roll. Just before ten the band came on. They weren't the UK Oasis tribute as billed, but they were entertaining enough. For a Saturday night live music experience with a decent meal, it was great. The pub/restaurant would be good to visit on any day. I'd go again on my next visit to Guernsey for sure.More
We called in on the way back to our hotel for a drink but were not impressed with the place it was more like sportsbar for men to pop in watch football and a pint. Never saw a lot of people in having meals last...time we walked past at 8pm.. Bit of a shame really as it was handy only 10 minutes walk. Feel as though it was boil in bag food not home cooked and fresh. Disappointing.More
A group of us, pre ordered our meals, and due to the delay in service we were offered a 40% reduction! Then when the meals arrived we were all very disappointed, my well done steak was raw! Having made a complaint, we did not pay...for the meals and our deposit was returned. Very disappointed.More
We were staying the local hotel, so popped in one night to sample the food, the pub is quite lively and basic, the staff friendly and the food good. Priced accordingly I would recommend, but this isn't fine dining, just pub grub.
It restaurant was lovely. The staff were cheerful and the food excellent. It has very good disable access. A little expensive worth every penny.
We tried this bar/restaurant upon the recommendation of our parents who had been here earlier in the week. The beef wellington was really superb and portions were a good size. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
What started as first impressions as Sports Bar where we could get simple bar food turned into a great meal. Cooked to order and chef substituted rice for veg as I’m on a Keto diet. Excellent choice of veg to add to the belly pork....My parters compliments the most delicious burger & chips! Restaurant quality food from this bar and this should be celebrated!More
The Doghouse was just up the road from our hotel so we arranged to meet a friend there for a drink. Modern feel to the interior large bar area with a standard selection of beer and wine. We visited on a Sunday evening so it...was quiet, decent enough bar would try it again if I revisit Guernsey and would like to try the food menu.More
