We arrived, as probably most others, on the Great Ocean Road trip. This was our last stop before arriving with relatives in Adelaide. We went on reccomendation from the lovely people at Oscars. After a hard days driving and sightseeing we were probably not prepared for the quality of the restaurant and food that we received here. Despite arriving without... More

A lovely understated restaurant with good service and front of house. The food was wonderful, imaginative and local. What a find.

One of my most expensive meals in Australia but also one of the best. I wanted to give myself a well deserved treat and Fen turned out to be the perfect choice. A gem of a place located in quaint Port Fairy. Simple decor with dim lighting & slow music. Service was great. Knowledgeable & friendly. They do get busy... More

We originally dismissed this restaurant as it is advertised as being part of the motel, but after going to our first choice and finding it very noisy we ended up,at Fen! And we're very glad we did. Service was amazing, food menu was limited but our meals were fantastic, and the wine list was incredible. Would totally recommend!

We stayed for one night whilst on the GOR in Port Fairy, which was very pretty but very quiet. I can imagine in season it being a busy little town. We were not expecting great things for our evening meal and booked the best place in town. We were delighted to find the food and wine at this restaurant amazing.... More

The fact that we could get accommodation right next door simply made our visit to Fen even better. We were greeted by waiter/sommelier Ian who was very professional and well-informed. The meal was excellent and the choice of local wines was very good

We ate here while staying at the attached Comfort Inn. The food and service was exceptional and we really enjoyed our meal. The dining room is intimate and the menu appealing, creative and delicious. We are pretty fussy and often disappointed by average food and amateur service; here everything was done perfectly.

Small, intimate room. Fantastic service and food extremely well presented. Very pretty to look at. Should also mention that the food was a taste sensation from the vegetarian Turf & Surf to the divine lamb main. Worth a visit

Fen exceeded expectations yet again. Lavender scented gin while attempting the impossible: choosing from the menu and hoping to avoid FOMO. The temptation of freshly arrived King Island scallops was inescapable. The most sublime seafood ever, followed by perfectly cooked mirror dory, with meltingly tender kipfler potatoes and saltbush crisps. My husband's abalone was much appreciated and his Wagyu beef... Description
Fen - low-lying flat coastal land. Our small restaurant in seaside Port Fairy was formerly known as The Stag Restaurant. We have been open since March 2015 and have recently re-branded to Fen Restaurant in March 2016. Fen's brand of modern dining combine innovative native ingredients with more traditional produce to create food that is uniquely Australian. Our drinks list is exclusively Australian and favours small-batch, handmade, low intervention, often organic or bio-dynamic wines and spirits.
