We returned to this restaurant (Pub?) with Albany friends for lunch. We are from Denmark (WA) and have eaten here before and enjoyed the experience, hence our return. Whilst the old historic pub/restaurant is quite pleasant and full of "Olde charm" with charming furniture and photos etc, the same could not be said of our eating experience on this occasion.... We were really welcomed to this family and pet friendly tavern in Albany. The staff were great and the food tasty and affordable. The service of the waitress was second to none and this pub is highly recommended for their service and attention to detail.

Cute little place of the beaten track. Wouldn't know it was there if you weren't with a local. Charming helpful staff. Food was good and reasonably priced

The portions of food was v small. The tomato sauce for the mussels was too hot n spicy. The creme brulee was the smallest portion and hard coating we ever received in all of the restaurants we ate in Europe n Australia. The food was overpriced. We will never eat there again. Not advisable to take family or visitors there.

I was disappointed to see the range of beer narrowed and also the quality of food not to my previous experience. Smells like new owners or management but please go back to how it was a year ago. I told our friends and my wife all about this pub and we did not enjoy our meal Shame could have gone... More

This pub has a great atmosphere and with an open fire is very cosy. If you just want drinks it's fine. However the food is pricey and not very good. My wife had the grilled shark and chips. It was a meagre serving and looked like the fish had been poached not grilled. My wife said it was tasteless. I... More

Visited the Earl Of Spencer with friends whilst in Albany, is a lovely old building decorated in what we think is Olde English Style but didn't remind me of any Olde English pubs I visited in Pomme land. Lots of old looking advertisements for English Beers hanging on the walls, we didn't eat so cannot comment on the food but... More

Very busy night but food and service pretty good . Recommend you don't sit near the door to the outside courtyard on a cool night very cold and the staff go in and out .

Our family has been visiting Albany for years and always call into the Earl of Spencer for a couple of beers and a bite to eat and on all previous occasions the food and beer have been top notch. Unfortunately on our last visit the food was extremely disappointing, which prompted me to write this review. My wife and I... More

Description
Here at the earl of spencer, we see ourselves as a family friendly venue. We have a large beer garden that is non smoking, kids play area, live music every saturday from 7pm & Sunday from 5pm and an all day snack menu. Lunch where nothing is over $20 for lighter lunches with an option for something a little more. We have 16 tap beers to choose from. We only sell local wines, which are all from the Great Southern Region. All of our meals area cooked to order, so our moto is, great food takes time.
