Our visit for lunch on Easter Sunday can only be described as a major disappointment. Having booked in advance to eat in the lounge area we were ushered into the restaurant as though it was some sort of upgrade. The only option was a cold buffet which might have looked innovative 30 years ago but most of which you could... More

Friendly staff who were efficient and attentive. Owners were lovely. Our Room was lovely with a fabulous big bathroom. Lots of hot water and filling the bath was effortless. Towels, face cloth and robes too. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, prawn cocktail and Cullen skink to stay with followed by the lamb and venison then brandy snap basket and... More

We had been expecting 5 star treatment and food but the only thing that was 5 star was the price, Nothing to complain about except the price.

The hotel is extremely comfortable. It is a real plus to find a separate sitting room (and the fire is a (necessary!) bonus) in hotels these days. We much appreciated that. All the staff were very friendly and made us feel most welcome. All of our meals were delicious - well presented, well cooked and a pleasure to eat. If... More

We visited the Ewe bar for food last night and had one of the best meals we have ever had in a hotel bar. The room was cosy with the fire on (dog loved it!), the staff were really friendly and the food was really good and wholesome. We both got the burger and it was fantastic, absolutely fantastic. We... We only stopped for a drink in the Ewe bar. I have no reason to doubt the quality of the food - indeed, the pint of Landlord and the (large) glass of sauvignon blanc were perfectly decent and the service was fine. The only problem was being charged £11.55 for the two aforementioned drinks. This is more than in many a... More

The food and service here went above our expectations. My husband had the lobster bisque to start and said it was outstanding, my cullen skink was really tasty too. The mains were also wonderful. The dinning room with the fireplace going and the old paintings fit in well with the countryside and was a beautiful room. Service was perfect all... More

Stopped to check out the Old Yew Tree and had a good lunch here. Very welcoming staff, and good food. The only suggestion I have is maybe a bit less salt in the Fish n Chips.

We dropped in for a dinner in the Fortingall Hotel. We ate in the Ewe bar which is a small and cosy room, with an open fire at one end of the room (yes, its only June and an open fire was still welcome). Service was excellent, and the menu provides a good choice of locally source food ranging from... More
