Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went to my husband's works Christmas meal here last night. There were 22 of us. We were seated in the back room, overlooking the beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the courtyard. The service from Steve and the front of house team was fabulous, so attentive....Didn't want for anything. The food was delicious, very well presented and good portion size. Certainly one of the best works Christmas meals we've had over the last 20 years or so. Would highly recommend The DambustersMore

Fantastic pub for people with an interest in the Dambusters. Huge amount of memorabilia throughout the pub. Landlord and staff very friendly and the food is excellent, the interior very cosy. Even if you are not interested in WW2 it is still a lovely welcoming...pubMore

Lovely venue, staff elusive, food nice enough! Expensive for what we had - fish and chips and pie and mash!

We had seen some good reviews on here and decided to try Sunday lunch. Very disappointing. The order came very quickly , and the waitresses were polite and helpful. But the food was poor compared to many others places we visit locally for Sunday lunch....Barely any meat ( I eat very little meat , and this left me wanting) One sprig of broccoli, one sprig of cauliflower cheese. Some carrots and green beans . Barely warm . The restaurant was full, so I thought perhaps we were being unreasonable, but as I looked at some more recent reviews, I noticed we weren’t alone on giving a negative review, which I dislike doing but felt I should as it was so poor. The landlord was a bit formidable, leaving me to think that making comment to him wouldn’t have bode very well, so we quietly ate what we could and left. The pub is interesting and I believe this is the draw , the food being a poor second.More

Absolutely fantastic lunch, we both had a sandwich which was perfect, the little pot of gravy was the best! The staff made a thing for our puppy which made it extra special. The memorabilia/history in the pub is amazing and worth a look, thank you...staffMore

My girlfriend and I’ve booked the dambusters in for a Sunday lunch at the beginning of October. I’ve never been before and this was always on my list of somewhere to go as I had heard good reports. On arrival, we were shown to the...conservatory area where we were seated a table for two, and we had enough room for the dog to sit underneath the table quite happily. We ordered our drinks and then couldn’t decide between the roast beef or the pork so we ordered one of each and shared. Both meats were really tasty, and well cooked, the roast potatoes were really crispy almost to the point of being a little difficult to cut, but still really tasty. The cauliflower cheese and braised cabbage were lovely and we would’ve been happy with a bit more of that. The stuffing a pig in blanket was also good. The only downside really being the carrots and broccoli that were simply cut and boiled but that’s really splitting hairs. The Yorkshire pudding and gravy set the lunch off absolutely perfectly. For dessert I opted for the chocolate pecan pie that came with cappuccino ice cream and it was absolutely delicious. No complaints and a very good Sunday lunch all round, I would happily recommend a visit here again, and I will certainly be returning.More

No waitresses to be found, I was left standing for 20 minutes before I was served. RIDICULOUS! I waited a further 10 minutes to receive my watered down excuse of a pint. When I asked for a replacement I was met with an aggressive NO...from the manager!!! The manager then gulped half my drink in protest that it was 'perfectly fine'. The bar staff offered me another drink but the manager poured it down the sink and screamed at them for 'disobeying his orders' I would never come again and warn others from facing the same treatment.More

For an industry that is wholly focussed on hospitality unfortunately The Dambusters is sadly lacking in that department. As has been mentioned in other reviews there is little for the passing customer who seem to be viewed as nothing but an inconvenience.

Booked in advance for Sunday lunch, advised one of party has garlic allergy and informed this wouldn’t be a problem. On the day when ordering waitrose enquired with kitchen about foods available to someone with garlic allergy and informed us none of the roast dinners...were suitable for someone with garlic allergy and nor was it possible to have anything else on menu other than scampi and chips. Extremely disappointing surely this should have been stated when booking made.More

Popped in here after hearing about it on the regional news. The pub is full of dambusters memorabilia. The beer was very good quality and the food was great. We sat in the rear beer garden to have our meal in the sunshine. We both...had the Grimsby fried haddock and chips with mushy peas. Really enjoyed it. I had room left for a cup of tea with New York cheesecake and ice cream. Spot on. Would definitely recommend the place.More

Limited to about 3 or 4 on the apron in front of the pub so most people park along the road. The road is not busy as is thro road for village but always be mindful about residents right of access and turning requirements
