Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is without doubt our favourite restaurant when we stay in Quinta do Lago. We always save it until our last night, to end our holidays on a high. As you approach the stunning entrance you are always greeted with a warm welcome and this...is when the "Alambique experience" begins"! The menu is a fabulous selection of seafood, meat and vegetarian delights for all tastes, the only problem is deciding what to have! Also, the wine and drinks selection is a carefully crafted range of beautiful choices. The service is five star, both attentive and friendly...a lovely thing is that many of the staff are there time after time, a really good sign. The finest food, beautiful wine, top notch service and wonderful ambience...you have to visit to quite believe it. If possible, request a table on the terrace for a magical experience.More

The most attentive staff ever! The food didn’t disappoint and the sardines for the table starter were the best I’ve had. Great place for a special night!

Still closed. Deck is empty and doors are locked down. Very disheartening. This is our go-to place. No one in the area seems to have any idea as to when or if it will reopen. 😩😩😩😩😩

Alambique is a traditional Portuguese restaurant with a warm, welcoming atmosphere (even in the early Spring, when it's still not that warm in the Algarve). The food is always good and the staff all speak great English and seem genuinely concerned that you should have...a great experience. They specialise in fish, of course, but the menu caters for all diners. A word of warning - the portions can be large!More

10/10 as always. We come a few times a year and Alambique never fails to deliver. Reccomend you go for cocktails at Bambuu next door beforehand.

Good atmosphere, good service. Pepper steaks were much liked. The value of this restaurant is in its atmosphere and service. The food is not mind blowing. A nice evening with the family though.

Fabulous dinner and fabulous service. the starter was grilled sardine and a pate; both were incredible and I would have said I didn't eat either. Our meals were wonderful; large portion; potatoes au gratin were splendid and the mixed vegetables good. What a wonderful meal....I look forward to returning one day!More

Had a fabulous night out in Alambique this evening. We had a delightful starter of sardines and pate, followed by monkfish, sea bass and fillet steak … finished off with a magnificent crepe suzette and crème caramel. The service was second to none and the...food was beautiful. Thank you to all of the staff at alambique for a wonderful evening.More

Brilliant is all I can say. The food and the service was on point, I think it’s my new favourite in Portugal! I took my two children who are early teens and they both really enjoyed the food as well. My recommendation is the French...rack of lamb.More

First visit here. The service was superb, friendly and attentive. Had prawns in garlic and prawn cocktail starters, cocktail was superb. We both had the chef special of fillet and prawn skewer main, beautiful. My husband had the crepe suzette, his favourite dessert, said it was delicious, maybe could have a...little more grand marnier to be perfect! Both cocktails were super too.The setting is traditional but with a feeling of being somewhere a little more special. Everything was so good we have booked for November and January.More
