we went here in summer to sit outside and have a drink myself and my mother 88 years old, there large outside patio had about 20 tables to sit at, we were approched and told there all reserved for people eating, even though no one...was sitting there ? so we were told we could only sit in the garden area with the very dangerous seating, my good shes 88 wheres the respect, the women in charge (tyrant) said we had that or leave cos its food only inside. i understand that we have to make money but come on !More

We went here for my uncle’s birthday about a week ago, we arrived about 5 minutes late due to traffic, and the waiter had no problem with it and was very friendly, however the food took over an hour and a half to arrive and...was slightly cold. A few members of the party decided to order puddings about 20 minutes after the mains had arrived, once again, the waiter had no problem and took the orders. But about 5 minutes after, the owner of the restaurant came to our table and told us to leave because the next people booked in had arrived, He then proceeded to gaslight us and told us we were 40 minutes late, which was incorrect as the table was booked for 12:45 and we arrived 12:50, it was due to the fact that we had to wait over an hour for the meal and we were not informed that we only had a certain amount of time at the table. Such a shame, as the food was nice and the waiter was polite, but the way the owner spoke to us was completely out of line, and we won’t be returning. Neither will the other 11 members of the party.More

Excellent food and service as usual. Cod loin was immense as was the Haddock and chips. Efficient friendly staff who were so attentive. Never tried a fillet steak but a couple near us did so we asked them for future reference and they said it...was greatMore

This place has totally lost its sparkle and soul. Having been many times over the years for either food or just drinks we were really disappointed with our recent visit. On way on a very hot sunny day, my husband said we might struggle to...get a table outside as its normally so busy in the garden. When we arrived there was only a handful of people. Having being told we couldn't just drink on the terrace and it's for diners only (!) We got a drink from a very quiet bar and sat on the long tables. It was so hot I would have thought the outdoor bar would be open but there was no vibe like there used to be in the summer. Music was droll and boring. We intended to stay for a few hours but ended up going to the cricket club opposite where it was packed, that's where all the locals are going now, you can tell that's the community hub, and unfortunately the Boundary seems to only want to cater for diners. We've decided we won't be returning, and having spoken to many locals at Spinners - neither will they. Shame.More

Myself, boyfriend and dog visited today for Sunday lunch at 1610 to be told we couldn’t order as the chef said no and would only be serving reservations. I looked online to book a table there was 1 available at 1645 in the restaurant. We...enquired about this only to be told yes there was table just become free but we couldn’t eat in the bar area, even though 6 people were already eating in bar area ?? Please can anyone explain this The bar staff were extremely rude and could not explain to us why this was the case ?? !! Needless to say we left and will not be returning.More

Lovely visit. Friendly and efficient staff, home cooked Sunday lunches with generous portions. Excellent value for money. Very much enjoyed and will be back soon!

Hi BH Team, Well I came with my children for a Sunday roast which was for my birthday. The service from everybody we dealt with was superb pleasant and friendly The food again couldn’t be faulted probably the nicest roast I have had in a...pub/restaurant, there was plenty the quality was excellent we didn’t have to wait too long and it didn’t come flying out of the door as soon as we ordered it so spot on ! We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. The 3 meat roast was delicious. Love the fact you get cauliflower cheese! Plenty of everything, left feeling very full and happy. Service was great. The decor is beautiful, it felt like we were in a really expensive restaurant....We enjoyed it so much we’ve rebooked to bring my parents in a few weeks time!More

We came here for my husband's 70th birthday. When we arrived and sat down my granddaughter got some food on her hoodie from the corner of the table, not a good start! The staff sorted it out and apologised and once everyone arrived we ordered...our meals. The choice was varied and something to suit everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed the food which was very tasty. The staff were very attentive to our needs, coming back on more than one occasion to make sure everything was ok. We will definitely go again for special occasions.More

I booked 2 months in advance for the festive afternoon tea, stating our dietary requirements - one pescetarian and one egg intolerance. I rang the pub three days before to check all was ok and the lady on the phone read the requirements back to...me from the booking. My friends with the intolerance was happy to have a vegan afternoon tea to make it simpler for the chef, which the lady on the phone made a note of. Cue arriving at the pub on the day and my friend was shown to the table. When I arrived a few minutes after her, she was visibly uncomfortable about how she had been spoken to. She said she felt like she had been told off by the waitress who basically said to her that she doesn't know why we booked the afternoon tea because they do not offer a vegan version. She was told the chef had to 'work really hard' to make everything for her and my friend felt a little guilt tripped. She was also told they couldn't do a vegan scone so was offered a free drink in exchange, which was kind, but the way she was spoken to made her feel like a burden on the business. The food was fine but nothing special. We ordered coffees midway through but they took a long time to arrive. Overall the experience was quite awkward and we were finished way before we anticipated, mainly because we didn't feel like we wanted to stay. We meet up annually for afternoon tea to celebrate birthdays and Christmases and wish we had been informed that the catering was an issue beforehand so we could've gone somewhere else. My questions is why couldn't someone check the notes of my booking and let me know in advance if this is something that the venue cannot cater for? Particularly when the booking was on the system for a whole 2 months. It felt like a waste of our time and a waste of theirs as the service left a sour taste. On the plus side, I have been here previously for Sunday lunch which was nice. My friend had a glass of wine instead of a scone and I had a good margarita.More

My wife decided to treat me to a birthday evening meal. I ordered the pork steak as the two choices I had in mind form the online menu were not on the menu we were given (Mixed Grill and Chicken Pie believe it or not)...when asked the waitress replied we do change to menu regularly. When my meal arrived it looked good a reasonable pork steak covered in sauce (I thought) when I tried to cut it I found it was a pork chop with a large 3/4 inch thick boarder of fat and a huge piece of bone, the meat on it was approximately 1 1/2 inch square, When the waitress asked if everything was alright when we ordered our sweet I then asked did I order pork steak or chop cause that is what I had received which she replied I will check. Upon receiving our sweet (Which took a while) Nothing was said about my chop as if we had never asked. When it came to paying the bill I asked again to a reply of I will ask them to change the menu to suit. (Unbelievable) A shame cause the food tasted fine. But if it would of been pork steak on the plate the size of the meat that was on the chop I think I would of asked fo it to be replaced. (We wont be calling again)More
