We were recommended to stop here for lunch by our barista in Auckland. Our initial response was wow to the amazing view, delightful gardens and perfect setting. We opted for the Bistro menu, second guest was nut intolerant and chef was extremely accomodating. Food was delicious, interesting options for the entree menu, cauliflower steaks so delicious. Wine both red and... More

Three friends and I started our visit on Waiheke Island at Mud Brick. We walked from the ferry port to Mud Brick. There are clearly marked signs to lead the way, and the walk is slightly uphill, but so beautiful as you can see the ocean, the vineyards on the hillside, and forest areas with trees, grass and birds. We... More

The venue with that magical view to Auckland, the multicultural, friendly wait staff, the great wines - red, white, sweet or dry - and the food. Oh the food !! This place ticks all the boxes (and a few boxes you didn't know existed) No visit to Waiheke would be complete without a meal here !

One can hardly expect the epicentre of Auckland day-trips to have the most perfect wines. Given our climate the vines are lucky to be alive. I can vouch for their bubbly, which was crisp and inviting on a hot day. It's a great location to wander around and smell the rosemaries and soak up the tourist vibe in all it's... More

Though regulars at Stoneyridge, on this occasion wife and I decided to go to a restaurant within walking distance from the ferry for a change. hadn't been to Mudbrick for years so we gave it a try. We opted for the outdoor Archive bistro versus the restaurant as the weather was stunning so wasn't expecting the restaurant standards for food... More

We came to Mudbrick Winery on a Saturday afternoon after another winery. We did the 'local' wine tasting, $20 each, which was a good way to learn a bit about the local wines. The venue has beautiful views of the water, especially in the late afternoon light, so try to get a table outside. Our waiter was fantastic; attentive (but... More

We ate at the Archive, the new bistro beside Mudbrick. As we drove up we saw the restaurant surrounded by lights. It was magical. The restaurant is rustic with lots of lights inside. We were at a table at the window looking out over the valley, it was very pretty with fairy lights in the garden. We ordered oysters and... More

As part of a wine tour we stopped here as our first tasting spot. Wow what a nice spot wished I could have stayed there for the whole day. Beautiful place, great wines. Very knowledgeable owner. Will go back, definitely. Don't miss this spot.

This was our last find on Waiheke, we only had an hour, but the staff were really happy to accommodate us. The shared platter was a good choice, and with that and a glass of wine or 2 it was our farewell to Waiheke -- this time. The views were amazing, there are different dining choices, and a great shop... More
