Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent Sunday lunch at this wonderful pub. The roast beef was tender and delicious and came with yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and perfectly cooked carrots, broccoli, red cabbage and cauliflower cheese. Honestly was the best roast lunch I’ve had away from home! Other offerings were roast chicken and nut roast, along with lots of starters and sides for sharing, to suit all appetites.
Staff, locals and visitors alike were all very friendly and welcoming.
Definitely worth a detour off the beaten track!!!

We were stopping at a touring site for three nights just a mile and a half away (walkable) and were delighted to find this little gem of a pub open for drinks and food (all of which were of excellent standard and value for money)
We visited three times making our way through the drinks menu.
It is set in the village square next to the church in Drewesteignton. The setting and ambience are idyll.
A recently opened and community owned pub, I’m sure it will succeed. Fingers crossed rooms will be available too the next time we visit later in the year.

We spend a lot of time In Drewsteignton and always visit The Drewe Arms a couple of times for dinner or just an evening in the pub. Everything about this new adventure as a community pub is fantastic. It has brought the whole village together and Simon and his team are being really creative to ensure that there is always something happening whether it be a food or drink festival or entertainment in the Long Room. When we visit I always have the Fish and Chips at least once and it is delicious with super triple cooked chips and the freshest fish that I swear is off the boats at Brixham the same day. This is a must stop for any visitor. Just make sure you check opening hours to avoid disappointment.

This gem of a community owned pub will guarantee a warm welcome, log fires and delicious food. The new Sunday lunch menu did not disappoint. Quality ingredients, well cooked and served with efficiency and a smile! The week day menu is also good. Some of the best fish and chips around. A variety of well kept local ales served from the barrel to boot! Check out the website to see what else this special pub has on offer

Tremendous pub with an excellent atmosphere. A traditional, community owned, thatched devon pub. Came here for the debut of their Sunday roast and was not disappointed, some of the best beef I’ve had in a pub in a long time. A lovely and welcoming team with an excellent tap selection. Well worth a visit, even if it involves a detour!

Two very muddy mountain bikers are grateful for the warm welcome received at lunchtime today. The beer (Otter Ale) was excellent as were our pasties and chips. We got so cosy by the stove it was hard to leave. Lovely to see this pub open again, busy and with great atmosphere.

A beautiful old pub, great range of local beers and ciders, and very friendly. It has a lovely community feel but as visitors from Bristol we also felt really welcome. Great outdoor space with lots of room for kids. Looking forward to visiting again in winter to make the most of the cosy inside rooms.

On returning from Okehampton I obliged my coachman to make our way to Castle Drogo, as I heard the view is passing wonderful and I had a need to stretch my legs. After a stiff walk and in need of refreshment we were advised to make our way to Drewsteignton and that an excellent hostelry was in the village. We arrived in a good square by the church with plenty of room for a coach and four to turn about and facing a low thatched Inn tucked into the hillside. Upon entering we were made welcome as though we frequented the establishment daily. Travellers of England's counties will know that this is not often the way in such establishments.
We were greatly surprised by a large selection of such good ales and ciders as might grace any city Inn. All the more unusual in such an out of the way place. A good selection of vitals were brought forth and with several pints of most excellent ale we left in great spirits to continue our journey to Exeter. Though a great City I felt sure that our welcome there would not be so good as we had the pleasure of in this place. If ever a gentleman is in need of respite, good ale and a hearty meal then he should make his way to the Drewe Arms, for here he will be met with all the requirements any traveller may wish for.

We visited The Drew Arms with family, had some fantastic food. Cheeseboard, ploughman's, fish n chips, ham egg and chips. Food was plentiful and very tasty. Fantastic service. 10 out of 10 to the community for re-opening the pub and bringing it back to life, long may it continue 🙏

This is one of the best village pubs which serves top quality food. We had the ham egg and chips and fish and chips, which are outstanding! There's also a good range of local als. A big shout to this community pub and a rare find.

Love this pub! It's a unique experience to step into such an historical building and be greeted by locals delighted to tell you all about community ownership. They do a really good pint, and my fish and chips with minted peas was glorious. Can't wait to go again - apparently Sunday roasts are joining the menu.

Had a great Friday evening in the Drewe Arms in Drewsteignton square.
Very busy with mix of locals and visitors. Friendly people to chat to with lots of stories and advice for visitors.
Lots of local beers, larger and ciders.
We didn't eat but the food coming out looked a step-up from normal pub grub.
Dogs welcome.
They have accommadation.

Several lovely rooms for dining. Service was fast. Beers and ciders excellent. Food was excellent (quality and quantity) despite a reduced menu, with something suitable for everyone. Look forward to the kitchens being opened properly. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly. A bit of a trek for us but it’s definitely on our list now!
