Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This pub is great, new owners have really made it look brilliant, it was busy when we came in with a mix of drinkers and tables, brilliant friendly staff behind the bar , good choice of beers and wines. This time we booked a table...and werent disappointed, there’s a fair bit on the menu so plenty to choose from, food was fantastic We will definitely go backMore

What a gem! Stay here for 1 night before getting the train to France food was outstanding and the hospitality even better. Excellent room and breakfast was superb. Foolishly we forgot to get names of the Mother and Daughter team that run this fantastic little...place. Will definitely be staying again. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we felt special. Wonderful ambience ‘oldy worldly’ interior of the pub itself and the bedroom modern with all the right facilities, wife loved the Prosecco in the room nice touch. Thank you for a wonderful stayMore

So glad this pub now offers a friendly team , wonderful food and service When I first visited this beautiful old pub it was great and as we were moving to the area we’re happy to find a decent local pub steeped in history serving...good food However over the last few years it had declined and really went downhill as did the clientele and atmosphere and food Going back last night for drinks and for a Sunday lunch today we were so pleased to find the front of house staff warm , attentive , polite and welcoming . The Sunday roasts we chose were chicken and lamb shank , I can honestly say the presentation and the food were perfect , best roast I’ve had in ages . Thankyou to the chef and wonderful staff I’m So happy to have this pub as my localMore

We stopped here on the way to the Channel Tunnel as they accommodate motorhomes. - Everything ticked every box. We had the burgers which were fantastic and a couple of pints of very good ale. The new landlord and landlady were very welcoming and friendly...and the locals made us feel very welcome. Not often I like a place this much at first visit but we will be back when we next use the tunnel. Really recommend this pub.More

I first visited the Red lion a couple of years ago and was extremely disappointed. Since hearing that the management has changed I decide to give the Red Lion a second chance. I was not disappointed. Molly, our host was the life and soul of...this beautiful pub. The atmosphere was warm, friendly and the roaring fire was a welcome sight on a cold and wet November day. Both me and my wife had the Sunday roast. The portions sizes were excellent and flavours to die for. We finished up sharing a chocolate brownie which my wife had the lions share. I clear sign of an excellent brownie in my books.More

Hi Graham - there should be space still. How many of you are there and did you just want some space at the bar if not a table? It's £7/head and includes a bowl of chilli or vegetarian curry.
