went with Friends Mon 3rd July for dinner had a lovely meal apart from my sirloin steak which was stringy and chewy. The wonderful staff didn't charge me for the steak after I complained and couldn't have been more helpful all in all a wonderful...dining experience!!More

Visited for dinner t short notice returning for the first time in years. The surroundings, atmosphere and service was excellent for a Wednesday evening. The food was excellent, we will definitely return again.

Had the scallops for starters which were really nice so everything seemed promising until I ordered the lasagne I can honestly say it was the worst I've ever tasted it was swimming in raw tomato passatta with mozzarella on top to compensate will give this...so called restaurant a miss next timeMore

Staff accommodated us despite us being a walk in and restaurant almost at capacity. Very good value lunch menu. Mussels for starter and the prawn spaghetti were perfectly cooked, as was my partners polpette starter with lasagna main. Nice wine too. Standout were the staff...who served us, professionally and friendly throughout. Definitely worth the trip.More

Very friendly staff. Very accommodating. Mum wanted caramelised onions on her pizza. It wasn’t in the menu but they did it for her anyway. Problem was it came out of a jar and was there in such quantity that it drowned the flavour of the...pizza. I had sea bass. Very tasty but only one wee tiny slice of fish. It was nice enough but there are better places around do unlikely to be back.More

Excellent service the girls couldn’t have been more attentive. Food first class with a particular mention for the fish dishes which were outstanding can’t wait to go back.

Having eaten here before we expected good service and great food. We had neither. Anticipating a great meal with friends was truly squashed. The biggest issue was the attitude of the waitress who ‘ served ‘, not! We were well aware we had to vacate...our table after 2 hours, as is the restaurant policy advertised on booking online. However after ordering starters and having just been served mains we were 1 hour 5 minutes into our time. We requested another bottle of wine to which we were abruptly told ‘ let me check if you have time’ . Seriously? Would it not be more appropriate for staff to discretely check then come back to guests if they didn’t have time, 5 of us with 1 bottle of wine over55 minutes ……. ? Our relaxing time was over. We then had to ask for desert menu, ask for cutlery,desert was then thrown down on the table to the wrong person with no cutlery as if to say,we don’t care … I have never experienced such awful service and attitude was off the scale We were charged so much for awful service and terrible food without so much as ‘ did you enjoy the meal’ , they knew otherwise. The food was dried up, pasta prawns clearly frozen , steak overcooked, chicken overcooked , all inedible. Staff didn’t care we were returning plates of food hardly touched. Needless to say I will not return. Bothwell has amazing restaurants. Choose another. Riva is not one of them.More

Food always excellent. Great value. But most of all waitress and service is just the best. Took my 90 yo mum for lunch. Staff so patient and attentive. She loves it here. Even other customers are always nice and friendly. A great place. Only complaint....Portions are huge…. Is that actually a complaint???More

Here for the first time I absolutely loved the food service was fantastic definitely be back again absolutely fantastic restaurant

We visited on Saturday evening along with our daughter and granddaughters who were up visiting from Derby. The food was lovely as always. However, the stand out thing from the visit was the young waiter who looked after us. Our granddaughters are both gluten intolerant...and he went out of his way to check that everything they wanted could be served gluten-free. It made our visit far less stressful for us as grandparents. Thank you.More

Always a pleasure to eat at Riva. The best restaurant in Bothwell. The food is very good, the staff, excellent. A nice friendly atmosphere, bright and modern surroundings. Can’t think of a single negative factor about this restaurant It’s always busy, so that tells the...story 👍More
