Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited for a late Bank Holiday lunch. The restaurant was busy with a mixed client base, from families, lads in their 20’s to retirees like us. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was freshly cooked to order, our veggie options were delicious. Other...meals brought out to other diners looked good with portion sizes being generous.More

Visited here today with my 10 year old son after an appointment nearby. I’ve visited before for brunch with friends, which was lovely. The staff today were very attentive, friendly and great at engaging with my son. We ordered a Parma ham and chicken pizza...to share and we were delighted with what we were presented with. Delicious pizza, well cooked and more than enough for 2 - half of it was boxed and brought home to my husband and older son. We will absolutely return, thank youMore

Lunch with friends, luckily had a voucher. Soups were lovely but tuna salad was mostly greens, interspersed with tuna, sliced tiny tomatoes and piles of avocado. It was all piled up on plate with no thoughts of presentation. Sorry wont be back

I’ve just been on a little visit north of the border to visit my Brother and the family. My eldest niece and her partner live very close to Rosso and suggested here for lunch. We were aware it’s a first come first served basis as...you can’t book , and being a party of five we were happy to have a coffee outside until a table became available , however our wait was upwards of an hour purely due to the selfish actions of other diners not swiftly vacating their table once they’d paid their bill. I appreciate you can’t ‘evict’ people but I think some sort of system needs to be in place where customers are aware it’s a quick turnover establishment as seating is limited. That said, once seated the service was excellent and the food delicious. All the staff were extremely polite and friendly and I actually felt sorry for them as I’m sure they must cringe when some customers won’t take the hint and depart in a timely fashion. Would I return ? Most definitely !More

Nice food in pleasant surroundings. We had a margarita and marinara pizza and both were delicious. Very pleasant and attentive server made sure everything went smoothly. Will definitely be back when in the area.

Popped in for brunch with friends and it didn’t disappoint. It was full but we only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. We had the full English and the vegetarian option. All I would ask it that they add mushrooms to the meat...version.More

Missed breakfast at a local hotel and headed for the high street - delighted to find Rosso. Tables thoroughly cleaned between customers. Friendly and helpful staff - with more senior staff on hand to help out too. A great roll & bacon with good coffee...too. Rosso “hit the spot” for me.More

Pretty disgusted on a recent trip to Rosso for brunch. Several years ago I discovered that the V for Vegetarian included not Free a Range eggs but cruel caged/ ‘barn’ eggs! My friend crossed the road & bought Free Range eggs from the Co op...& the chef cooked for me & my friend. I complained at the time & hoped this practice would change. However on a recent family brunch I again checked as what they are saying V for suitable for Vegetarians is still Cruel and caged hen eggs! In disbelief I ordered the Vegan alternative. Please make your feelings known on this unbelievable lie as ‘suitable for Vegetarians’ or just as a person who will only buy Free Range eggs for the sake of animal welfare. I actually don’t know anyone who buys cruel eggs. Very disappointed & won’t be back. Please put up your prices & buy Free Range eggs. Even say on your menu eggs are not suitable for anyone who has despises animal cruelty.More

I love the food in Rosso. Its always busy so you are lucky to get a table, although the waitresses do their best to accommodate you. The food is just absolutely beautiful. Nice, fresh pizza and pasta. Cheese boards are lovely and plentiful. Sometimes you...do have to wait quite a while for food and a few times I've been in for take away at my designated time to have to wait longer. It is worth it as I think this is a great wee place.More

If I'm honest, I don't know why I've continued ordering from this place as it is becoming more and more disappointing everytime. Ordered a take out for collection this evening (Saturday 18th December 2021) at 6.40pm. I was informed by the management that it wouldn't...be ready for collection until 8pm due to high demand and a busy restaurant a week before Christmas. That I understood, so my partner decided to collect at 8 from Motherwell (bearing in mind we weren't exactly 'up the road'). He left around 7.30 and home by 8.15pm or so. Food was still kind of warm - that wasn't the issue. The main concerns i had were: the ham and pineapple pizza that my partner had was burnt and if I were the management I would never have sent that out of the kitchen busy or not it's not a excuse. It was also bland, I think the pineapllenwas the only thing I could really taste. The cheese was insipid. I had the pasta amatriciana and the pasta has always been overcooked. Pasta should never come out splitting and had been overcooked. The sauce was even more bland and insipid. It was as though the cook just throwed a tin of canned tomatoes on top and dressed itup with green and red chillies. One note to the so-called chef whoever you are - you cannot cook and are NOT a trained chef. You cannot add chillies intona dish and think that's what will make it taste better - it does not. It makes it hotter! I also found a piece of chicken in my dish which should never have been there. This was more if a concern because what if someone was allergic to chicken or any other ingredient they might have added for that matter? This is totally unacceptable. If you had a group of professional staff working in your kitchen then they would know about food INTOLERANCES and ALLERGIES. There are people who have had serious health complications due to things in their food that should never have been there in the first place. This is shocking. In the end, i had a few bites of the pasta and my partner his pizza and left it. Discarded it in the bin it was totally inedible and tasteless. I was very underwhelmed yo say the least Rosso. Just not good enough. I've been in for sit down meals and take outs before and I always think you'll do better next time. It never is. I did call the management straight away and explained all the above. She was a nice lady on the phone and had offered me a free pizza and pasta next time. I ask myself why I would want to do that after the last experience. It makes no sense. I would rather have had a film refund and I had explained it was tasteless on other occasions too with no room for improvement. I didn't want to have to wrote a review like this but I'm afraid I had to because I am really fed up of how terrible food seems.to be nowadays. I am a very good cook myself and have cooked dishes like this hundreds of times over. This is NOT how you make pasta pr pizza and you have the audacity to call yourself and Italina bistro. It's actually embarrassing. For that reason I won't be back and I certainly wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my friends or family. Money and travel time wasted for sub-standard food. I think people rate this place so much is because they cannot cook very we at home themselves - anything would taste good if they can't cook. I do not recommend this place. NB please employ a 'real' chef not someone who thinks they're a dab hand in the kitchen because they certainly are not!More

Takeaway containers are hopeless. One of our meals was upside down in the bag and emptied everywhere. Our order that we waited an hour on is completely ruined. Extremely disappointed as this is one of my favourite takeaway/restaurants.

Thought we’d go for a nice meal been a while since been in Rosso. We ordered pollo Milanese which the pasta was not cooked still clumped together, no pasta sauce and chicken breast smashed less than a millimetre thick. I have never seen chicken bread...crumb actually curl before. Sorry for a meal that cost £36 won’t be rushing back time soon.More

I like this venue and the team that work there, the owner is often present, he is nice, approachable and a great host. However this mornings breakfast was just poor, the scrambled eggs were like eating a bowl of salt. They did look like they...were fresh, made by a chef etc but overly seasoned to the point of being almost inedible. It wont stop me going back but they really only have one more chance and i will find somewhere else.More

We ordered 6 meals for the family for takeaway. 4 of the pizzas included were look warm and undercooked. The garlic bread included was also freezing cold. For a £70.00 order to be of this standard was very disappointing from Rosso’s usual standards. The order...took almost 2 hours to arrive and was a completely underwhelming experience.More
