Went there for lunch mid-week to meet up with friends to celebrate birthdays . Got a lovely welcome and shown to our table, where menus were already on the table. Menu is changed daily, so when all four of us chose the Wild Boar Pie...More

Thank you so much and we are glad you enjoyed your birthdays. Our roads are a little confusing but in fact we are only 6 miles from Salisbury (it just feels like 20 if you're not sure!) We hope to see you again soon.

Dropped in for a Sunday lunch today, despite a busy car park the staff were very accommodating. The chef cooks an amazing lamb roast and they serve a great pint of Doom Bar! Beautiful rural setting, fantastic beer garden and genuinely lovely people...

We travelled the outskirts of Salsbury to get here on our way home from vacation. Well worth the drive off the beaten path! The lobster bisque was sublime and was in a huge bowl. Accompanying bread was phenomenal! Our mains were huge, tasty, and colourful....More

Description
WE ARE OPEN 12 - 2 AND 6.00 TO 10.00 P.M. CLOSED SUNDAY EVENING AND ALL DAY MONDAY EXCEPT BANK HOLIDAYS. Fiona (landlady), Radish (the Jack Russell), Bean (the Hungarian Vizsla - work in progress puppy) and Frogspawn - (the Shetland driving pony), chef Pete and the rest of the team welcome you to the Hook and Glove in Farley. A friendly, happy little haven set in the beautiful village of Farley just 7 miles from Salisbury. We are a traditional, family and dog friendly free house with a log fire in the winter and a beautiful fully fenced garden in the summer. We also have two petanque terrains and space to tie up horses. There is a large car park at the rear and you are welcome to leave your car and wander off to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside and the village. If you care to take a look at Trip Advisor (and I promise we did not submit these reviews ourselves!), You will see that Pete offers homecooked cuisine, imaginatively presented, using locally sourced ingredients to suit all tastes including Sunday roasts. Our pies are properly made with a top, a base and a side with varying fillings, for example, steak and kidney, wild boar, game pie, chicken and asparagus. We also offer a takeaway service. We also have regular deliveries of fresh food straight from Normandy so a good choice of French specialities, including snails and lobster bisque! The Hook and Glove is very close to beautiful Bentley Wood and the Clarendon Way and is an ideal stop off for walkers and cyclists to relax with a snack. The restaurant can be hired out for any special occasion including children's parties. The pub is in the process of an extensive overall maintenance and updating programme and so our virtual tour and the pictures of exterior and interior will be changing slightly over the coming months and we hope that when you visit us you are pleasantly surprised and that whilst trying to maintain that genuine "country pub" feel we are achieving some much needed improvements. We have two petanque terrains which can be booked free of charge, a tying post for horses and a child friendly back garden.
